Very cozy and quiet place near Palm Springs, Coachella, and Joshua Tree National Park. Very friendly staff and comfortable room. Looks like the breakfast is too popular, we always missed it when coming down around 10 am.

The hotel is not big, and it is half an hour away from the town of Palm Springs. We went there on a non-weekend, so there were not many people. There were not many restaurants around, so we found a Thai restaurant with large portions and good taste.

My wife and I spent the day in Palm Springs and decided to stay overnight. We made a last minute reservation at Onsen Hotel and Spa. When we arrived we discovered a cat in the lobby where breakfast is served. I expressed my concern to the front desk about being allergic to cats. He checked us in our room and on the way I noticed several feral cats roaming the property. 10 minutes after checking in I went back to the front desk and let them know that due to my allergies to cats I would not be able to stay and kindly requested a refund. I was told he could not do anything about refunding my money but would leave a note with the manager who would be in the next day. It took over two weeks to finally speak to the General Manager and ultimately was told they could only offer me a 50% refund, which she described as "generous". For a place that bills itself as a health and wellness property, I find it ironic that they don't consider allergies to cats that roam the property to be an issue for some guests. If you are looking for a place where cats roam freely, including where your breakfast is served, this is the place for you. If you check in on a 90 degree plus day, like we did, I hope the ice maker is working. When we arrived we were told it wasn't working and it breaks regularly.

Hands-down one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever stayed. From the moment we checked in, everything felt calm, quiet, and just right. The vibe is peaceful in a way that’s hard to put into words.The room was beautiful and thoughtfully designed — simple and clean (side highlight: firm beds and great water pressure). The pool and jacuzzi are real highlights. Hot spring water and total quiet — it’s impossible not to relax-- exactly what we needed. Everything was spotless and well taken care of. The staff was so kind and really made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The free breakfast was yummy! Omelets, yogurt, bread selection (don't miss the raisin bread) and more. But honestly, what stood out most was the staff. Everyone (Tracy, especially) was warm and welcoming. They genuinely wanted us to feel at home. Every little detail, from the check-in to the way they explained how everything worked, made the whole stay feel effortless and special. Our girls trip was better than we could have imagined! We felt like we were the only ones there, and the two complimentary bottles of champagne certainly made us feel as if we were queens! We relaxed, recharged, and escaped the noise of everyday life. This place is perfect. We left feeling lighter, calmer, and seriously didn’t want to leave. 5/5 — absolutely worth it. Pro Tip: Call ahead to ensure the ice maker is operating or grab a bag of ice on the way in. 😇

Really excellent place overall. Few things that could be improved to make it five stars. Cleanliness of the grounds could be improved, a lot of trash and leaves in the courtyard especially off the room patio. Additionally there should be more communication around the cleaning schedule. Being there for 4 days I would expect maid service at least twice however we received none. If you're not going to be cleaning the rooms you should be telling your guests this in advance so they are not expecting it. Your breakfast was also a bit boring with the same foods every single day. Otherwise super nice place and I'm sure it's going to continue to get better and better.
