Wingate by Wyndham Denver Airport

The airport shuttle service is very convenient.. It runs every 30 minutes and driver is very helpful . Staff was very friendly . There are many restaurants around the hotel with a lots of choices .

My incidental charge of $100 did not get removed from my Credit Card. After some back and forth phone calls, the front desk told me it was due to damage of a dresser (that we did not do or use). I asked for pics and evidence and they said they could not send that to me. I kept calling and kept trying to reach the manager and they stopped answering my calls. They said that only my credit card company could get this info. If you look up reviews, there are other guests that had the same experience and had to pay even more than us. It's very odd and the whole staff seems to be in on it. Also, took them forever to move us rooms when the first room we got had a broken bathroom door. Room service ******. cleaning person finally came but left her cleaning supplies. Sink would not drain and shower smelled of sewer. Walls were dirty and the entire place seemed understaffed which made it difficult for them to help people with requests. All things that could be like whatever, but now that charge is where I draw the line. They either don't answer my calls at the front desk and won't let me talk to the manager. Whenever I do get an answer, they say they will send me pics but don't. I tried customer service and was on hold for an hour. Don't stay at this scamming hotel.

Hotel and rooms are nice enough with very comfortable beds and pillows. But.... we arrived late in the evening and the desk clerk did not appear to want to be bothered as we seemed to be interrupting his TV show. However, the rest of the staff was very nice. The room had no soap or conditioner, and even though we reported it the next morning it was not resolved until the 3rd day. Breakfast is one of the worst complimentary breakfasts I have encountered, but to be fair, I am diabetic and there was very little I was able to eat, and what was workable was very unappealing. And although parking is ample and available, be prepared to pay $10 per day for parking which seems absurd since you are basically in a field on the edge of town.

I stayed just one night on a layover at Denver airport. The room itself was fine - large, clean, and comfortable. I left very early, so I can’t comment on the breakfast. My only complaint is about the airport shuttle bus (hence the four star rating). The hotel sent detailed instructions to exit baggage claim through a certain door and stand at platform #3, where all of the hotel shuttles pick up. I waited quite a while and many other hotel shuttles passed by two or three times. I finally asked one of the other shuttle drivers and he said that the Wingate uses a third party shuttle company (called Western Shuttle) that is shared by several hotels. None of this was communicated in the email I received prior to arrival. I finally saw a van with the Western Shuttle logo on the side. It listed several hotels on the side, but NOT the Wingate. I asked the driver and, sure enough, this was the right shuttle. I believe it had passed by me at least once but I had no idea if was the right one since it didn’t list my hotel on the side. We ended up stopping at a few hotels (the Baymont, Comfort Inn, Wingate) that weren’t listed on the side of the van. And apparently there were some hotels that *were* listed on the van that are no longer served by this company. They really need to update this because it’s very confusing for the customers. At a minimum, the email from Wingate should mention the name of the shuttle company (Western Shuttles) and mention that the van doesn’t list the name of the hotel on the side.

Clean, spacious, comfortable bed. Near airport. Restaurants walking distance. Very close to airport and provides shuttles. Breakfast was ok.
