Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver International Airport

Old hotel in need of a renovation. The parking lot is only accessible by getting a ticket to get in. Went to one entrance and the ticket button didn’t work. Tried calling hotel from the call box but no answer. Had to back up and try another entrance. Arrived at hotel at 7 pm and had to wait at front desk for several minutes till front desk clerk showed up. She came strolling up with slither employee from elsewhere laughing in a deep conversation. No wonder the phone went unanswered since she must have abandoned her post. Room felt old and the mattress was terrible. Tried sleeping in the center of the bed but kept feeling like I was going to roll out of the bed since it was in such bad shape.

This is for the hotel restaurant only. We did not stay here. - R got the chicken marsala: this is a large portion. The chicken is cooked nicely, she was thrilled with the veggies, and the marsala gravy is totally a hoot. Is this an inspired dish? No. That granted, completely fun for what it represented itself as. - Buffalo wings: the sauce has a serious vinegar kick, and is fantastic. Seriously, for a airport hotel restaurant, these wings of rock. 3.9 on my 0-5 wing-scale. - M got the fajita quesadilla and was pleased with it. I had a couple pieces of the tray diced fajita peppers, and I thought they were perfect. - Front of house team solid. - All things considered, this was a surprising delight in the vast suburban morass of hotels around the DIA airport.

Happy hour and breakfast were great. The room was spacious. But I didn’t get all my benefits as a diamond. I had to repeatedly ask them for a late check-out…even though I was told yes, it was never marked down. And then the housekeeping still came before 1. I paid for a premium suite and didn’t get the guaranteed treats and beverages as were advertised. Bar and restaurant staff were great. Location was good.

Unbelievably bad experience. I was on a delayed flight and needed to short stay for an early morning flight. Booked from the airport and then scheduled my Uber ride. Not 15 minutes later I arrived at the hotel right around midnight - happy to get about 4 hours in a bed. When I arrived they told me that they were oversold and didn't have any rooms! How does this happen 15 minutes after scheduling and getting a confirmation number an email. They tell me that they sent another email trying to let me know that the room was cancelled. At this point since I had so little time to find another hotel I simply returned to the airport for my 4 1/2 hour layover. I could have tried to find another but knowing that it would likely take 30 minutes to book, check in and get to the room - that didn't make sense - back to the airport to catch a few winks on the floor! $30 in ride fees and no bed. I even have the confirmation that they accepted my reservation. If I make a reservation and don't show up - they charge me nearly $200. If I make a reservation and they don't have a room then I get to go back to the airport and sleep on the floor!

The front desk clerk was one of the rudest employees I’ve ever encountered! Would not recommend this property. So many other nice properties that actually hire polite, professional staff! They also don’t tell you it’s $18 per day to park which may or may not be an issue for people but it should be communicated more clearly for sure.

Comfortable rooms, great breakfast and happy hour. We'll be back.
