Our ryokanl booking came with sukiyaki dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the dinner very much but had to skip the breakfast due to our tight schedule. There were a few cute and friendly cats which were mostly hanging around the courtyard and reception area. Nice onsen private onsen baths. Wished that the ryokan had provided luggage stands for us to put our luggages instead of us having to place our luggages on the floor and on the sofa.

One of the most favorite hotels in Kyushu, Yufuin is really small. You can walk to the hotel in less than ten minutes from the station to the hotel. The scenery is beautiful along the way! It is 6 square meters. Actually, it feels quite big. The service of the old lady is very good. Although the language is not clear, she can also feel her enthusiasm! The second night was in the hotel's exclusive restaurant that was not open to the public. The Japanese chef only served us and our husband. The steps are cement gray. Although not high, they are easy to be ignored. 2. Although there is a glass partition door, the hot spring water and hot spring related equipment are quite loud at night. It is very uncomfortable to fall asleep on the first night. Guests with sleep problems can negotiate with the hotel to turn off the hot spring at night so that the water will not flow.
