It was bad nothing open in the whole hotel. No stores or waterpark and not told in website ahead of time

Customer service was terrible found bed bugs not only in my cousin Villa but in my Mom room in the register building managerment would not come check it out mantience went back to get someone we recorded while he tried to act like he didn't see not not worth it nor paying g for staff to disrespect you

This is one of the best hotels I have been to. I just wish they would give us a paper of the tv channels. Also the pool is really fun I loved it with my family. But please just make sure the pull out beds are comfortable I barely could sleep on mine. Also the pull out bed looked broken.

No matter what temperature we set in the room , it was still hot. The shower took forever to get hot, the water smelled, when walking down the hallway it smelled like cat urine. I was there for a convention, not enough food for the guests, the food was terrible and not hot enough. The wait staff they had, worked over time. Some of our adults within our group helped the staff serving food. Your resort needs to be updated. Judy

Villa was huge! Beautiful. We were not able to relax on deck in back, no chairs, no table. Jacuzzi jets down stairs did not work properly. Only 1 dish towel, 1 dish cloth in kitchen. We ended up using a bath hand towel. Only 2 garbage bags were provided (11 of us) 2 nights 3 days. We made it work but it was difficult. Pans in kitchen need updated. We had to wash them up good before using. No lid for them. Waterpark was perfect for our kids4-12 yrs. Older ones enjoyed some of the hot tub. Not a lot of time though when you check in time is not until 4. The villa was nice and big for many. Just need some updates and the two bottom bunks boards under mattress were sloped at to e foot of the bed. I take it brackets or wood planks to support were broke. Top left drawers bracket was broken but husband tried to improvise and tighten things in bottom bedroom so we could put some light clothing in it. Mini golf needed updated and was $10 plus tax for each person.

Terrible breakfast at cafe complete ripoff without getting what you ordered. Hotel is dated rooms, cheap as they come. Hotel staff doesn’t care about service or guest experience.

What a shame. Took my kids there years ago and thought it would be a great place to bring my granddaughters (4 and 5 yrs old). Halls and room smelled and were dirty. I can handle dated, but not dirty. There must be some mold or allergen issues because my daughter left at midnight and drove home because she couldn't breathe. I stayed with kids and son in law. Pool water looked cloudy but at least it wasn't freezing. Game room was about 90 degrees and I could not tolerate being in there very long. When my daughter returned the next day, within 5 minutes of being in room she started having severe breathing issues again. We ended up leaving and not even staying the second night. The place has potential if owners gave a crap.

My family and I stayed here over Easter weekend and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a villa, C-3. Small issue with the villa. The villa sleeps 10 people MAX, but it was only 3 wine glasses, 8 regular drinking glasses and no champagne glasses. If 10 people were here, everyone couldn’t drink water or wine, again small problem, not a deal breaker. Also all the ceiling fans squeak when turned on. The beds were soft and comfortable even the pull out sofa beds throughout the villa. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The master suite balcony door was stuck, we called the front desk and within 15 minutes maintenance came and fixed the door. Walmart is 16 minutes away and Target is about 4 minutes from Walmart. The waterpark was great. My 6 year old and 2 year old daughters throughly enjoyed themselves. The lazy river was great, the wave pool was awesome. The kids enjoyed the water slides Overall, it was a great family getaway. Not too far from Chicago, but close enough for us to definitely return.

Make over villa
The Grand Bear resort was out Spring Break destination this year. Given a last minute change to a villa from a regular room I expected more. The unit we were put in (R2) seemed to need a complete make over. There was visible water damage and repair spot along the ceiling in the washrooms and kitchen. Because this was a last minute change we didn't bother to ask for a switch being that we would spend more time in the hotel pool and game area. Outside of the villa we had a great time and will return again but hopefully another unit will be offered.
