I have stayed here many times in the past, but this visit was horrendous! I arrived there about 12:30/1 am and there was some kind of “party” in the patio area right outside the front desk area. There were about 15-20 people, liquor bottles all over the table, people smoking cigars, no where really to park, and it was not the first thing I wanted to see when I got to my hotel after a long day (on a WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY at 1 am)! I also “checked in online” the day before and was waiting for my mobile key (or so I thought), but never got a key so I was told to go to the front desk so I did. When I got there and gave her my ID it was taking a while so I asked was there an issue? I didn’t get an answer so I told her I checked in online everything should be ok, well I was told “we don’t do online checkin or have mobile keys here so I’m finding your room now.” Wow!! I was also asked to sign a form to acknowledge the “quiet hours” starting at 10 pm, no smoking and no party policy”. That was fine (even though there was a full fledge “party” a few steps away! I also pointed out their form said the room deposit said $100 per day and when asked to clarify I was told, it didn’t matter what it stated it is $100 total! Smdh!! THEN to make matters worse, the elevator didn’t work!! I was in the 3rd building on the 3rd floor and had to lug all my luggage up the stairs! The hallway had sheets thrown on the floor and when I got to my room the air conditioner was running! No problem, I’ll just turn it off right! NO! I switch it off NOTHING, I turned up the temp expecting the heat to come on, but more cold air came out!! So I called the front desk to ask if I could have another room because the air wouldn’t shut off. I was told there are no more rooms and maintenance is offsite until tomorrow, so I asked am I supposed to freeze? She apologized and said there’s nothing she could do until the next day! Huh!! I kept messing with the thermostat and end up trying the “heat emerg” setting and the heat finally kicked on. I was able to set the temp at about 79 and once the room got to 79 it finally cut off. The room was also dirty and the toilet took 30-45 mins to fill, so when the maintenance guy came the next day at about 11:30 am, I told him what happen with the thermostat & he was nice but he didn’t know exactly what the problem was to fix it! At that point I was frustrated and just said if it stays off at the “heat emerg” setting I was fine. I told him about the toilet and he did fix that with a new part. The elevator worked early that day, but when I returned Thursday night it was off again!! There was (what I later learned) a “family staying next door and also across the hall. Well I guess they could not get adjoining rooms so they kept their doors open with the latch keeping the door ajar so EVERYTIME, they went in and out you heard the doors banging against the metal hook. I don’t know if they were living there or what but they were there my entire 5.5 days and

Friendly check-in after Lyft ride from the airport. No upgrade was available for Titanium Elite. I tried to use upgrade awards on the Bonvoy app first said I could then later changed to could not. Curious I got an email asking me to pay for an upgrade. The room was adequate with daily cleaning, which was much appreciated. M Club is closed on weekends. However, you do get a voucher for a nice breakfast buffet. Clean pool and workout area. No where close for dinner the house car ran by the valet is hit and miss, able to get ride to dinner within 5 miles, needed to call Lyft to get back to hotel.

There is a lot to like about the the Dearborn Inn. This is a nice older hotel (built circa 1931) that has been expanded and is now owned/run by the Marriott Hotel chain. The exterior looks classic and the lobby is beautiful. If you are in Dearborn it would be hard to ask for a better location as it is about a minute to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but many others in the area. There is ample free parking around the building. Our room had a nice desk area with lots of plugs, including USB outlets. The TV was about a 37” flat panel with about 60 channels, plus the ability to access your own account through Netflix and some other providers. The room was quiet, which we would expect from an older building. The staff was nice and helpful on check-in. There were a few nits. First, our room was on the small side, as was the bathroom. The bathroom was modern and nicely done, but a bit tight (again, as a consequence of being an older hotel). Our king bed only had one nightstand - there was room for a second one but for some reason, they decided not to have one. Some of the furniture seemed to have had more use than I would have expected. This was an older hotel to be sure, but some of the pieces seemed like they could have used some TLC or possibly replacement. If you are seeing the Henry Ford and/or Greenfield, this is an excellent hotel. We also went to the Detroit Institute of Art and found it an easy 20-minute or so drive into downtown.

The room was clean and tidy, the bed was large, very comfortable, and there was a sofa bed, and the springs were all protruding. Breakfast is good. The location is very close to Ford, and it is also the main purpose of choosing here. There are not many places to eat around, there is a Pizza Hut nearby.

Fresh and clean, although there is some visible wear and tear at the hotel it was sufficiently clean ( bathroom had a few things that my clean nut eye saw) and comfortable. The bed had ample pillows with both feather and synthetic filled pillows. Often I need to request non feather pillows as I’m allergic to feather. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The young man whose name I missed was very helpful and they ensured we had what we needed and we were happy. Special thank you to Linda who arrives early morning to put out the fabulous continental breakfast! Her friendly and helpful demeanour was appreciated. I only gave a 4 star rating because I felt the bathroom should be the cleanest space in the room. Thanks for a great night sleep, would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.
