Dunkerleys Hotel

Dunkerley's is the quintessential British hotel in the quintessential coastal town of Deal. Privately owned and curated with real care and attention to detail. We return again and again, particularly when we want breathing space from London. Each room is characteristically individual and we always prefer a seaview. The bed is incredibly comfortable and this always ensures a great night's sleep. All of the rooms are immaculately clean and offer ensuite facilities, comfy chairs, tea and coffee making facilities and ironing boards. Breakfast is superb and there is the option of kippers and other fish dishes. We always have dinner at the hotel and the standard of cuisine is amongst the best on the Kent coast. There is also a good choice of fine wine. For us Deal IS Dunkerleys and we wouldn't stay anywhere else, infact we are returning, with family members, in thee weeks time. Highly recommended on every level.

Called in for lunch,good varied lunch menu. Had the fish and chips, fish was over cooked and greasy,chips were nice,proberly try some where else. Staff very friendly.

Lovely sea-front restaurant-with-rooms I was delighted by my stay. The room was very comfortable, with lovely views over the sea-front/pier. It was a bit of a climb to the second floor (no lift) but I managed. The room (11) had everything I needed, was very clean. Breakfast was excellent - good, meaty, herby sausage, good bacon. Service, by the young staff, was highly personable and pleasant. I'd left my mobile phone at home and they were so helpful, sorting out taxis etc for me. I thought this one-night stay was remarkable value and have no hesitation at all in recommending Dunkerleys. Indeed, I hope to return.

Stayed here a number of times and never disappointed. The room is spacious and well provided with storage. Despite the hot weather the room was kept cool with windows that open and an effective fan. Our rear room was quiet and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast is excellent and varied cooked to order with a choice of full breakfast or fish. Location is excellent- central and on the promenade.

This is a really nice hotel and is in an excellent position . Beautiful hanging baskets outside. Good value hotel. Comfortable rooms . Very pleasant staff and the food is great too

From the beautiful window boxes and hanging baskets this hotel doesn't disappoint. Quirky decor, huge bell at reception - our stay was brilliant. Room 4 with its sea view was excellent, well proportioned, spotlessly clean and despite its location on the junction it was quiet. Towels are soft, nice toiletries and good tea/coffee etc provided. Ample storage space too. Bar is well stocked, reasonably priced and very friendly All the staff seem to be very young, but are always smiling, helpful and willing to talk. Slightest of criticisms - breakfast is a bit sparse. Fresh fruit is literally just a bowl of fruit, bananas only appeared on our first morning ( we were there 4 nights). Yoghurt has to be ordered separately and is only plain but not helpful as there's no fruit to go with it - sadly. Also my husband's request for "hard poached eggs" ie not runny failed dramatically on 2 mornings, so he gave up! But please don't let this put you off ,- it's a fantastic hotel.
