Quite a large motel with its own cafe and small selection of one armed bandits. Check in was quick and simple and you are given a pass for your car for free parking. I was in an upstairs room and it was clean and comfortable the bed was good with sufficient pillows and blankets, air con is good but as usual with these older hotels is noisy. Bathroom is ok and water pressure and hot water were good after a short wait. Wifi was ok. Tv is good. There is no microwave or fridge which is a pain, if you want ice to keep anything cool it is outside next to the office, so you have to trudge across the car park with your ice bucket. I was wakened at 2am but drunk revellers returning, I know that’s not the hotels fault but maybe they could reinforce it with some signs dotted around? Considering the price of this motel I was disappointed by the lack of any amenities, fridge, microwave, breakfast etc. you are captive in Deadwood so you have to pay double what you pay in most small towns. For example tonight I’m staying at a super 8 in Bemidji and it is half the price and includes breakfast, gym, fridge, microwave and much more modern rooms. Like I say you are paying for the area, so you are a bit stuck, for a basic no frills stay this was a clean comfortable motel.

The negative reviews are unfair for this mom and pop business. The place is clean, quiet and locally owned while employing people who still care about customer service. It’s tucked away from Main Street so it’s quiet. If you want Marriott book Marriott. This place provides everything you need at affordable price, only negative we experienced was the long breakfast line at the cafe, but that was dam well worth it!!!! Home cooked breakfast served up with great coffee
