We are teachers in our late 50s from Mass. We stayed in Deadwood for 2 nights on our way to Mt.Rushmore The Hotel is in a great location one street removed from " historic " Deadwood. The hotel itself is in a old industrial building repourposed o Into a hotel. The designers did a nice in creating the hotel. However as the building was not built to be a hotel there are a few limitations. The queen and king rooms are tiny( our super 8 hotel room was twice the size) but clean and thoughtfully laid out. But certainly not the kind of place you would want to spend a rainy afternoon. Furthermore being downtown you will hear some ambient street noise but nothing dramatic. There is no parking at the hotel but there is parking just a short walk away and most of Deadwood is walkable. The staff were professional and helpful. I especially liked Ashley. She was kind, professional offered good suggestions for food and things to do. The type of person who you would be happy to have as a friend. If I was passing through Deadwood would I stay at the hotel again. Maybe as I think you move the hotel a few blocks away and it would be over priced for what it offers.

My wife and I are 50 something teachers who like to travel. We stopped in deadwood for 2 nights on our way to Mt Rushmore and Crazy horse( both must do's btw) The Hotel is in a prime spot ..one street away from historic? Deadwood. The people who converted the space from what it was to a hotel did a nice job. However, the queen and king rooms are SMALL about 1/2 of what you might expect. To there credit they are clean and make good use of the space. There is no parking at the hotel itself but there is gated parking for guest only close by. Being a hotel downtown there is some noise from the area especially the motorcycles that were all around. But nothing that was of any real concern. We thought the staff was nice A big shout out to Ashley who only works there part time but was warm friendly, efficient and provided great suggestions of the area. My one tip would be ... There are apparently 3 queen rooms WITHOUT a window. We had one originally..claustrophobic people be ware

We enjoyed our stay at the Gold Dust. The rooms are a little on the small side, but other than that, not one complaint. The folks at the front desk were very helpful and suggested a great restaurant for our anniversary supper. Would definitely stay at the Gold Dust again.

Very friendly staff! Clean room. Close to everything, didn’t need to drive at all to get around town. Breakfast not a whole lot of options. The pancake machine was pretty cool, press a button and it makes 2 pancakes! Would have likes some breakfast meats and eggs. Too bad the garbage trucks need to do pick up at 6am… very loud! We would recommend this hotel!

This place was beautiful, renovated, and so clean. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was amazing. In the perfect location to explore deadwood. Close to restaurants and bars. Not far from Terry Peak. Continental breakfast had a lot of options and was good quality. Staff was friendly!

I really liked how convenient it was to get to the main attractions however I think they benefit from better or more breakfast options.
