Red Roof Inn Syracuse

DON’T STAY HERE! If I could give 0 stars that would be an under statement. We booked through Tripadvisor and arrived to check in. After entering the room the smell was unbearable and it was an unsafe environment. Transient people in the parking lot and on the balcony. Loud music from the next room as well. I immediately went down to return the key and informed the staff that this was unacceptable. They hesitantly accepted my complaint and said a third party would refund my money. I just picked up an email from Tripadvisor that they will NOT be proceeding with the refund. Bad business, bad staff and terrible environment.

Closed? Did I read closed? Beautiful!! I stayed here over the years and watched it degenerate into the hovel it became. It's been several years since I was here so I'm writing this post-mortem. I'll never understand why a property/franchise owner would not put a penny into maintenance. Zero effort all around. Also, while I'm ranting, shame on Red Roof Inn corporate and the Syracuse Department of Health for allowing this to happen. This skeevy excuse for a business should have been put to sleep long ago. To those who have stayed at this location the last few years, believe it or not, this place was once upon a time quite nice. P.S. I lied about the date above. The last time I was here was 2021. An absolute compost pile.
