Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel

This hotel is a disaster. They should be ashamed to associate their name with Marriott. Rooms are very tiny. $40.00 valet parking. Restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. You get a meal credit but only have 2 things on the breakfast menu to choose from. And DO NOT ask for any substitutions. Not every a different type of toast. Went to dinner and ask to sub carrots for cauliflower as I cannot eat that and was told no. NO SUBSTITUTIONS. Needless to say we walked out. Pool bar is only open til 4 and they don’t have many ingredients to make the simplest drink. Asked for a pina colada and was told they had no mix. We will never be back and I advise people to avoid this hotel.

Brand new hotel definitely working out some kinks. The pool area is really pretty and if you didn’t look to the left or right of the property it was almost like you weren’t in Daytona, ha!! The pool actually had pool service!! I was shocked. Will definitely return for my next work event

Brand new hotel and still working on getting the kinks worked out. No self park and valet parking only, $40 / night plus a tip. Our first surprise is the $30 resort fee. Never saw this advertised when making the reservation. One significant issue is that each room has a fresh air supply (a very nice feature) however, the velocity of the air makes it very loud. So if you prefer quiet to sleep, this would be problematic. The room was modern, high tech, great view. The restaurant dinner was OK but not really good. I am a Marriott loyalist and so We used points for the stay. Breakfast included due to status. However, only two choices. No flexibility on how eggs were cooked, so had to pay $15 to get my eggs my way. I never ran a restaurant but I am thinking I would want to have the tables bussed after the guest leaves and not leave them dirty. First impression added a star to the review. Thomas, combination valet and bellman was simply excellent and what Marriott should strive for with customer service. The rest of the staff was very friendly, apologetic but unable to help. Won’t be staying again any time soon, will give them a year to improve their systems. If you get a great deal on the room, I would try them and see how your experience goes. To the owner and/or investors: invest in training the staff, train to say “my pleasure not, no problem.” Fix problems, fix systems, your staff is doing the best they can with what they have when they have it. Protect your investment, fix the HVAC noise .

I I booked a limited ocean view for my husbands birthday. I was unable to use a suite night upgrade (lifetime platinum). I really wanted an ocean view. I called the day before our arrival. Keith was on duty. He listened to my story, and was able to upgrade us to a gorgeous ocean view suite. I asked after arrival , for south facing, as we also love sunrises. He was able to give us the south facing ocean view. What a spectacular room! A balcony that faced north, south, and east! My husband and I loved the room. Keith saved the day! We also saw Keff Dunham at Ocean Center, 1/2 mile away. Easy walk. The on site restaurant is impeccable and serves delicious food!

My experience has not been a Marriott one so far. First, I included breakfast in my rate for all the members in the room (3). rate. One of the issues was the experience in the restaurant. First the menu separates de “complementary” vs paid breakfast. My breakfast was not a member complementary, it was included in the rate. The manager of the restaurant, told me they were not Marriott and as a separate company I had to deal with Marriott and she could not do anything. The personal expressed there is a management dispute between the hotel and the restaurant leadership. This is impacting guests. I understand you are just beginning operations, but the quality so far is not a real Marriott experience. I hope other Marriott members do not have the bad experience I had, and you can correct the situation.

This hotel still trying to figurate out his operation. However the worst thing is the leadership aptitude specially with Marriott elite members. There are many surprises when you arrive: 1/not self-parking and only option is $40 per day valet parking (the drivers due a good job). 2/$30 destination/resort fee per day. They also add $3.75 in taxes over the fee ?? 3/the breakfast that is included in the rate, is restricted by the restaurant owners (who are very vocal saying they are not part of Marriott), it is like a second class “guest” breakfast, so If you want the complete portions of eggs or fruit you need to pay more directly to the restaurant. I wont be staying here in the near future, specially with current management.
