Nautilus Inn - Daytona Beach

One of my keys wasn’t working so I asked for a replacement, the receptionist let me know the manager put a note on my profile that they were watching my family through the camera system and they noticed we had two guests during the day and tried to charge me more money because I had guests come over to go to the beach with me. How ridiculous is it that I am being watched by the front office, it’s creepy and very unprofessional. I am supposed to stay here for a few days but now I’m very uncomfortable knowing I’m being monitored this way for no reason. If you don’t mind being treated like this by all means check it out however if not I highly recommend seeking a more professional establishment.

Great clean hotel. Every place from the lobby to the hallways to the guest rooms are updated and clean. Rooms are nice. We enjoyed the balcony and it was nice to have the kitchenette included. Beach was easily accessible and pool area was nice. Liked that the parking was included as well.

Every time we come here it’s just wonderful. The hotel is always clean and the lobby smells like heaven. The view from our room was amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

We returned to the Nautilus after trying out a couple other options in the area for our annual vacation to Daytona. I must say that felt like coming home. There is a certain sense of security and familiarity that made our stay pleasant. This was our fourth stay with the Nautilus since 2019 and although we miss the more substantial breakfast that they had in 2019, it is nice that they do offer coffee and muffins in the morning. We also miss the little perk of the happy hour that they had in 2019, but it is not a deal buster. One thing that I noticed this year is that they have a nice little selection of snacks, frozen treats and beer and wine that you can purchase from the front desk. We had an ocean front room (which we had had every year that we have stayed) and we throughly enjoyed the view. Our sons joined us halfway through our stay and had an ocean view room. I found that their view from their balcony was not too bad. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I am guessing that the TV is our room was at least a 32” and our sons TV was at least a 40”. Each room has a full kitchen with plates, bowls, cups, silverware and even pots and pans so you can take advantage of the full size stove. Some suggestions for the management would include updating the photos on the website (TVs are tiny in some of the pictures). Bring back the happy hour (wink, wink). And maybe come up with a smoother system for exchanging used linens for fresh linens and other items. A couple bummer points were loud neighbors and some guests NOT abiding by the nonsmoking rules, but unfortunately you will get that anywhere you stay. We did discuss trying out another place next year, but as we pulled in on our last night coming back from dinner, I said to my husband, “I think that we should stay here next year after all. It just feels like home!”

Please note that the hotel will violate your rights, deceive you, treat you rudely and not professionally. We booked a room with an ocean view, and in the end they gave us a room with a terrible view of some building, and no one wants to change it or apologize. You won't get any service or good service. Plus there is no light in the parking lot.
