The Manse

We spent three nights here in beautiful Daylesford, The location of the Manse is brilliant, just a short walk down to the town and beautiful views from the room. The building is full of character and you definitely feel like you're in another age! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable however we were a bit disappointed with the included breakfast. Four small cereal sachets and no bread or condiments for a 3 night stay for two of us. To be fair, when asked, the problem was rectified. The food preparation area is tiny and the bath whilst being very in keeping with the ambience would be very difficult for anyone with any mobility issues as there is no alternative shower. Despite these small negatives we enjoyed our stay in Daylesford.

Great space for a group of friends to get together. There were 10 in our party and we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The house was warm and welcoming. Top quality linen and soaps provided. A beautiful complimentay welcome breakfast was supplied by Genevieve and the team. The house was spotlessly clean and elegantly appointed. A short walk to cocktails, dinners and shops. Highly recommended.

This review is being written on 24.1.2023.... The first thing one notices when approaching The Manse is the giant 'For Sale' sign in front of the place. For those looking to book, I would think twice about paying the whole amount as you might turn up and find the place gone forever. The five rooms at The Manse are spacious and with a quirky victorian meets Chinoiserie meets Impressionist meets rustic decor. The wifi is fine, no air con, and the shower is by means of a bathtub located in a corner of the room. The hotel is totally quiet. The place is a bit dusty and dated which is explained possibly by the fact that thew owners are selling on. Curiously, the place seems totally unstaffed. Our room wasn't cleaned and even our dirty breakfast plates and glasses (served via a kitchenette in the room) were still on the table when we came back. If you like a dusty, faded grand house not dissimilar to the house from 'Psycho', then this might be just the place for you. But don't pay the whole amount first!

It was a perfect old style Brit Victorian house BnB! Lovely room and more than enough complimentary amenities and food. The old style bathroom can be a bit of a challenge, but overall it was part of the overall experience! I am telling my friends who are planning to stay even for just 1 night in Daylesford to book this place.

Great location to restaurants and shopping. Hospitality ++++++ and thoughtful welcome gifts. Helen is a sweetheart with a heart of gold. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone who appreciates the craftsmanship of yesteryear and sees this as a gift for us to enjoy today. We will be back!

I found the room dusty,windows have no screens,the bath/hand held shower totally not to.my.liking most specifically the dusty room which I suppose is in line with the unkept garden as you walk in. Definitely not one I'd return to.and checked out after 1 night if a 2.night stay. Am battling to get refunded for 2nd night as Hotel.com.seem.to.habe a problem contacting Helen
