Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dawsonville

I so wanted to give this hotel five stars, but as someone who travels a lot for both business and pleasure, I just could not. Pros: the staff was amazing and very helpful; the rooms are decorated perfectly; the breakfast was wonderful & there was plenty of it; they use Dove products in their bathrooms, and I love them; the towels were plentiful; there was plenty of parking in the parking lot; and the hotel is conveniently located in Dawsonville. Cons: the towels were hard and scratchy; the carpet was sticky to the touch and needs to be cleaned; the bed was very uncomfortable, and even after one night, my back hurt; the blinds did not keep the light out; and, sadly, even though the chaise lounge was beautiful, it was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I’ve ever sat in. I think IHG could have hit a home run with this place, if they had worried more about substance, and not about looks. To me, the most important things about a hotel room is the comfort of the bed, how dark the room gets at night and breakfast. They hit one out of three. Honestly, not sure I will be back. :-(

I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions. The rooms are always clean. Brandy at the front desk is always helpful and courteous. The breakfast is a wonderful continental breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

This hotel was well kept, clean and comfortable. The area was well lit and well maintained and felt safe. The room was very clean and cleaning was evident throughout the day. The breakfast was good and offered a lot of variety and Eyleen was replenishing and cleaning steadily. At the front desk, Brandi made my initial reservation, checked us in, gave us some overall information to enhance our stay, and checked on us on day 2. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

I’m just going to let everyone know this is the best place and the employees are so sweet!Brandy was so sweet and kind. She knows how to make you feel like home!! Made an ever lasting impression on us! She and the staff are amazing. We will be back!!!
