Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport West

Stayed here with my 2 girlfriends . We went to see Darius Rucker at The Hard Rock. The price was great. I had my own king size room and my 2 friends shared a room. The rooms were immaculate and so very accommodating. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was helpful and very friendly. My friends went down for the free breakfast, but I didn't. They said it was very good. I will definitely be staying here again when I head down there again. Everything was perfect!

My husband and I booked a Day room for a few hours, as we had an early flight into Fort Lauderdale, and our resort check-in was not until 4pm. Staying here allowed us to rest, eat and get ready to go on to our next destination. We've done it at many other hotels before without an issue. The hotel itself "seemed" to be okay, as it was within walking distance of places to eat. It was a smaller hotel than I expected, but we were only there a few hours, so it wasn't a big deal for us. What was a big deal however, was the price gouging by the owners. Our Day hotel is charged based on the number of hours reserved, so you know upfront how much you will pay, and it is usually much less than what you would pay for an overnight stay. The owners acted like they never heard of this, even though they kept confirming that our stay was from 11 am - 4 pm (5 hours). They tacked on an additional $50 and told us that it was because we came from the airport???? Essentially, we paid the same rate for an overnight stay. So if we came from the mall, would it be more or less? If we walked up to the hotel from our house, would it be a different price? If we drove in on the interstate, would they charge us something else? Like what????? Who does that? If I had not just ordered an Uber who was waiting outside, I would have stood there and called them out on this ridiculousness. But it was the start of our trip and I wasn't in the mood for arguing. Please consider staying somewhere else, unless you are okay with a sliding rate scale depending on where your journey starts. Also, the free shuttle fron the airport isn't free, it is $10 per person for Day reservations, I guess its free for overnight reservations. Or maybe if I walked to the shuttle it would be $5 per person...you see where I'm going with this? Be forwarned.
