Datong Pingcheng District 2-star Hotels

It was a little difficult to find the place to check in. This was a nice, clean hotel room. We stayed in a family friendly room. The beds were comfortable and there were drawers and a lot of counter space, a desk, end table, and small table. There were 3 extra pillows in a cabinet. There was an access code, so when someone left others weren't left in the dark and checkout was just a matter of sending a message via WeChat. We really liked this hotel!

Excellent value for money, spotlessly clean, and the staff provide great service. Breakfast is included, and the location offers very convenient transportation for exploring. In the evenings, it's lovely to stroll out to the square and enjoy the cool air. I wholeheartedly recommend Wutongge Hotel to anyone planning a trip to Datong.

I stayed for three nights and was very satisfied with the room overall. It's located near the west gate of Datong Ancient City, across from Huayan Temple. There's a shared bike parking spot right at the entrance, making it very convenient for getting around. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Having just opened this year, they also provided a gift box of fruit and snacks upon check-in, along with a footbath tub, which was very comfortable and refreshing after a long day of walking. The owner even gave us drinks and souvenirs before leaving. The room wasn't too large, a bit smaller than chain hotels, but the overall layout was very logical and clean. Although it faced the street, the soundproofing was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find a garment steamer and sewing kit in the room. The owner was truly attentive.

I had a good impression of the ancient city of Datong and the Nancheng Beixiang B&B where I stayed this time. I checked out yesterday and went to the Hanging Temple. I was very satisfied with this newly built B&B. I started traveling south and north in mid-May and passed through many cities. I often encountered unpleasant situations when staying in hotels along the way, but this B&B was very different. The hostess was enthusiastic and patient, and the reception was thoughtful. It can be seen that she was running this B&B with heart. The B&B has large windows, is clean, warm and tidy, the beds are comfortable, the air conditioner is noiseless and the temperature is comfortable, and the power will not be cut off after people leave. In particular, the bathroom is impeccably clean, even the putty lines in the corners between the wall tiles and the floor tiles have no stains, and every corner is very clean (I always pay attention to some details in the hotel); there is a large reception activity space on the first floor with books and picture albums; there is also a very new kitchen with stoves, refrigerators, etc. (it is also so clean, but unfortunately we are running non-stop to the attractions and have no time to use the kitchen). The B&B is very close to the most lively Drum Tower in the ancient city, and it is very convenient to travel. After getting off the taxi, I walked directly into a small alley (Fuxueli), where there was a group of newly built blue brick and tile houses with quaint style. The community was green with trees and winding paths, and it was quaint. It took two minutes to enter the B&B. There were potted flowers and plants in the courtyard, and a small elevator was installed in the four-story building. The B&B is located in a prosperous area of the ancient city, but it is very quiet. The blue brick walls and winding paths isolate the noisy sounds of the small city, and I can sleep well every night. I really like this small B&B that is like an outdoor paradise.

I absolutely loved this inn during my visit to Datong. The projection and landscaping were stunning, and watching movies in bed was incredibly smooth. The toilet was also an Anhua smart toilet, and the sanitation was excellent. I felt like I was staying in a small inn, yet I could still experience the service of a large hotel. It's also close to all the major attractions in the ancient city, and transportation is convenient. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends when I return.

I was expected to stay for two nights, but unfortunately I have to go back one day earlier if I have something to do temporarily, otherwise I can feel the style of the ancient city more. The housekeeper added me on WeChat in advance, but didn't send me the room number or door code. The route map they sent said it was a 30-meter walk from the parking lot. There was indeed a place 30 meters away, but it wasn't the courtyard I was staying in. I called the housekeeper and was told I needed to walk further. Upon entering the courtyard, I was stunned. No one from the hotel was there. I called the housekeeper while holding my luggage in the courtyard before I was able to check in. A package arrived at the hotel, and the housekeeper said it would be in my room. When I returned to my room, it wasn't there. I called and found out it had been placed in the shared tea room. It was something that could have been handled with a WeChat message. I didn't feel like a housekeeper at all. If this is considered housekeeper service, I suggest they have a front desk. This place lives up to its name. ψ (｀∇´)ψ is a studio apartment-style room with convenient access to scenic spots and easy takeout! Maybe it's new? It's quite clean. It has all the amenities you could imagine, and even disposable towels, bath towels, toiletries, and toilet seats are all included! The bathroom has a washing machine, and the closet has hangers, so even a quick wash is enough. There's a knife-cut noodle shop right next to the door, and you can order takeout right from your room. The door has a code, and takeout can go in the elevator. The only thing is a 100 yuan deposit, but it's refunded quickly.
