The hotel truly excels in both its facilities and service, especially the airport pick-up. It made our arrival so much smoother and gave us a warm welcome to Datong, showcasing the hotel's genuine hospitality. We booked a loft room this time, and it was a delightful surprise. The design is tasteful, the space is incredibly generous, and all the amenities are convenient and comfortable to use. The sofa in the downstairs living room can be converted into a sofa bed, and both floors have their own independent bathrooms. The deep soaking tub is huge; my child even joked about swimming in it! The breakfast area isn't large, but the food is exquisite and perfectly satisfying. The hotel's interior can be described as 'small yet beautiful.' The dome in the lobby and the central garden on the third floor are perfect for photos. The exterior is quiet, and getting around by taxi is easy, just 15 minutes to the ancient city and 10 minutes to Fantawild. It offers incredible value for money!

Perfect score! We booked a duplex family room, which was ideal for families. It had a double bed upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs, plus a large terrace. It would be lovely to have a little barbecue on the terrace on a cool evening. The curtains block the sun but not the light, so if you're sensitive to light, I'd recommend bringing an eye mask. Service: The service was excellent and thoughtful. Our family booked two different room types, and they specially upgraded one of the rooms so we could be closer together. Housekeeping was prompt. We moved the tissue box from the vanity to the bedside table at night, and the next day, they thoughtfully placed an extra box of tissues on the vanity for our convenience. Facilities: Everything you need is there, including a laundry room. I particularly want to mention the breakfast – the 'dao xiao mian' (knife-cut noodles) were genuinely hand-shaved by the chef bowl by bowl, and they tasted fantastic. The jujube sausage was also delicious and highly recommended!

They even had local Shanxi specialties like knife-cut noodles (daoxiao mian), pressed bean noodles (ya dou mian), and yellow rice chilled cakes (huang mi liang gao). The room was clean, very comfortable, and had excellent soundproofing. I really have to commend the front desk service! The gentleman at the front desk noticed we were staying for quite a while and upgraded our room type, which made our stay incredibly comfortable. We're super grateful. I rarely write reviews, but the Holiday Inn Express Datong Pingcheng truly made us feel at home during our trip to Datong. Five-star recommendation!!

Really good! The environment is quiet, and the breakfast is nice. The staff are friendly and even provided us with travel tips! It's about a 10-yuan taxi ride to the Old Town and also close to the South Station.
