Aronda Apartments

This hotel is an absolute dump!!!! The whole place is tired and apartments are dirty with ingrained dirt from past months if not years – (see photos) and in need of a full refurb! Pool towels were grey and stained. Breakfast was meagre, to say the least, and often cold. Staff didn’t seem to know how to work the food warming plate to keep food warm; cold fried eggs & bacon🥴. Choice of main course on two of the three evening meals included was moussaka or chicken, OR chicken or moussaka – both weeks! The rooms and wardrobe smell of damp – consequently clothes smell of damp when put on. Insufficient sunbeds if everyone stayed around the pool as some were broken & unusable. Cat poo occasionally seen in the grass and on the path – not what you want to have to look out for with nothing on your feet by the pool. No master key on site except when the cleaner was there – long periods of time when no staff/owners available, even the rep didn’t have access to a master key - not good if there’s an emergency OR anyone accidentally forgets their key!

Very disappointing, the photos are years old, this place desperately needs a makeover! Trip advisor says there is a “kitchenette”. There was a sink and fridge, one knife, fork and spoon, but no means of cooking apart from a kettle. There were two single beds in my room, but they were entirely different heights so no way of pushing them together to make a larger bed. The bathroom was outdated and claustrophobic, no way of showering without the whole floor getting wet. Beware Room 1 next to the kitchen, no chance of a peaceful lie in, staff talking loudly from early until late, smoking right under my bathroom shutters. Breakfast was basic and shambolic, one 2 slice toaster for 16 people, one kettle. Staff even pushed me out of the way on one occasion! One day I asked for more bacon, but she refused, pointing to 2 thin rashers. The best thing was the pool, but the pre swim outside shower was hidden because it was so overgrown.

Spent a week here in early May with Solos. Classic Greek hotel, with the bonus that Kiki and the staff work really hard to go the extra mile for their guests. New mattress toppers and sunbeds arrived as I left, the place always looks immaculate and the staff are invariably charming. Set back from the road and away from bar noise. Loads of hot water in the shower, with good pressure. Yes, the bathroom gets soaked, but this is Greece. It dries out pretty quickly. Wifi is ok by the pool but patchy in the bedrooms - name me a Greek island where this isn't the case. The pool is lovely and sparkling clean, as was my balcony overlooking it. The garden taverna has a huge selection of drinks, frosted glasses for cold beer, and is also fab for a lunchtime toastie. But most of all, Kiki's cooking is beyond fantastic. The smell of her slowly cooking stifado wafting poolside was beaten only by the flavour later that evening. And her barbecue night is the template for a proper feast. Dassia's ok. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk away, as is the biggest of the supermarkets, and Ipsos is an easy 30 minute stroll. But the bus stop is right outside the hotel car park, and Corfu Town is 30 easy minutes and 1.50 away, with Gouvia and other interesting stops all along the route. The Woodpecker bar is pretty much next door, too, and a fun place to enjoy a chocolate tequila... You'll get out to some lovely places if you stay here, but coming back to the pool, the welcome and Kiki's delicious cooking make it very tempting to just stay put.

Spent a week here with solo. The hotel is a lovely family run place. Kiki and her family know how to look after you. We had a few meals and a BBQ there and all the food is delicious. Lovely place run by lovely family.
