The Forest Inn

This is my 4th visit to Forest Inn. Paddy and Richard never fail to impress. Nothing is too much trouble. I am pleased to see that the Inn have invested in brand new sash double glazed windows. This has cut out the draft, noise, rattle from the old sash windows. The Inn is very comfortable and cosy with a lovely intimate bar area. I love going to the river West Dart down the hill at Huccaby Bridge for a dip, whatever time of year it is.

We have just spent 5 dsys here and it was lovely ! The room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was superb and all the staff were amazing !!! We wish we could have spent longer here.it was well situsted to visit all around the area and..we will definstely return!!

Stopped for a planned visit on a weekday in early September. Had read the reviews and understood there to be new people and the food had good reviews. We were not disappointed. The first thing was the great welcome, friendly hosts, it had a nice feel about it. The other thing which ticked our boxes was the plain home cooked food on the menu, nothing fancy, just old fashioned hearty food, and lots of choice. We had the cauliflower mornay - absolutely fab, so tasty. We also had the fish and chips and the ploughmans. Good sized generous portions. On chatting to the landlady it is apparent that the food is all cooked from scratch and home made, with proper ingredients, which we liked, not processed food. Next time will have the steak pie, and the landlady offered to add kidney if we let her know beforehand - (happy husband!). We couldn’t fit dessert in, but came away well happy. It will be interesting to see how this traditional pub fares as the new hosts get established, but we wish them well and will definitely return.

Forest platter was superb, lovely fresh ingredients, home made coleslaw was a treat! Staff friendly and helpful, beautiful country pub in superb location!! Will definitely return on next visit to Devon!

Great wee Inn, the bed was so comfortable. Very relaxed environment. Great TV reception in room. No phone signal, but Wi-Fi easily covered that with VOIP calls. Hosts were great, very knowledgeable about other local establishments for food/drink. Breakfast was very good. Lovely little Bar, with a good range of drinks. Plenty of outdoor seating. Couldn't comment on evening meals as they weren't being served during our stay. If I had a reason to visit Dartmoor again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

I stayed in The Forest INN with a colleague a week before Christmas. I fell in love with the place it was perfect. The bedroom was spotless Best nights sleep due the comfortable mattress The hospitality tray was fantastic. There was something for everyone; good quality tea, coffee, chocolate et al. The lovely china mug sold it for me. The room was so warm; it felt like home The lovely landlord Paddy went above and beyond for us. I am returning in February for work and really looking forward to being there again This really is value for money and I would recommend it to anybody. I think this would be a lovely safe place for families. It was peaceful and quiet; a lovely place to wind down after a long time travelling and a long day working Thank you
