We were put in a very small room on the 3rd floor. The lift only goes to the 2nd floor. The lift that goes to the 3rd floor was marked out of order. We are both in our late 70s and had to carry our bags along a corridor and up about 40 stairs. No member of staff offered to help. As we were going to check out we noticed a member of staff using the lift to the 3rd floor.

Our 2nd time staying at Kings head whilst on business which is always great value, excellent service and superbly located in the heart of Darlington town centre . Always a nice comfortable stay and I’m sure I will be back as I have many projects within this region.

The hotel is a distance from the train station. It is very noisy outside at night. There are many birds chirping all night. Not recommended

Hotel in a historic building right in the centre of the town. It is a nice place to stay and has a convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful.

1. The location is very good, in the heart of Darlington, one side of the building is the old King Hotel, and the other side is the new building. The rooms are small and the setup maintenance is very average. The breakfast is over there in the old building, and it feels pretty good. As a resting place on the way to Scotland by car, I feel that the location is still very suitable. 2. There are several problems with this hotel: first, the parking lot is very limited. If you arrive late, you may not be able to park in the hotel parking lot, and you need to drive to the public parking lot nearby. In fact, the hotel didn't tell me where it was, and it took a long time to find it. Therefore, comrades with luggage should be careful. The second is that the local bar area is downstairs, which is very noisy on weekend nights and stops around 12 o'clock. The third is that many of the guests come to clubbing? Stayed for one night and watched several vomit at the door and on the stairs, which was very uncomfortable. 3. If you are driving to Edinburgh on the eastern route, it is recommended to live in Newcastle; if you are traveling to Glasgow on the western route, it is recommended to live in the Lake District.
