Howard Johnson by Wyndham Dalton

Good for a short night stay in a good location. WiFi didn’t work at all.

Ok for this price

The room itself is the only reason why this place gets a three and not a zero. And I’m only speaking for this specific Howard Johnson in Dalton. The customer service sucks all around with all the staff members from the people at the front to Housekeeping the people at the front or rude, not friendly, and not willing to help. Every time you call them or approach them at the front, they seem to be bothered and have an attitude. They were not welcoming or willing to help. As far as Housekeeping, I had a specific encounter with the elderly man who basically humiliated me in public. I needed to change my sheets, and I took all the dirty linens and told them I would put the fresh ones on myself, but he proceeded to yell across the balcony about how dirty my sheets were. I’m sorry, but isn’t that the purpose of changing them? I’m there for a whole week. I should be able to ask for new sheets whenever I feel like it and he’s lucky. I’m not making him change it. I’m willing to change it myself, he didn’t have to make any comments towards the conditions of my sheets, especially not airing it out to the public. After that incident, housekeeping did not come by the rest of the week. I feel like overall all the staff members are completely unprofessional and do not provide good customer service and that looks bad on the hotel as a whole. It just means you’re willing to hire anybody to fill the positions but don’t care about the experience your guests have when they stay there. I was truly disappointed. And would not recommend this place for anyone staying in Dalton.

The room was very comfortable. Easy access from the interstate. Very affordable rate for the area. Great place to stay if you have plans nearby, like Blueridge, or other sightseeing and train rides. Well lit parking lot, seemed to be a safe place. Only drawback was the breakfast. It was basically cereal, coffee, bananas, and pastries.

Easy access from I75. It was clean, breakfast adequate, room smelled a little musty. You get what you paid for.

I stayed here for a tournament so all i needed was inexpensive, clean and safe. I got all 3. The location is great. In a neighborhood setting near the college. Close to everything. The room was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The AC was a little noisy but cooled well. The breakfast is limited but better than nothing. They have a coffee machine so you are able to get a cup anytime. Pool was not operational and based on the reviews, hasn't been in a while. This is a smoking property but it is only in rooms in another detached building so the main building is smoke free. The front desk staff is very helpful and nice. I would stay here again.
