We were in town to visit family - the staff at the Birchtree are always really friendly and accommodating, the rooms are lovely, and the restaurant in the hotel is great, would highly recommend!

Nice quiet comfy room and very clean which was lovely, although shower is in bedroom it’s still quite private and a very good shower, you also allowed my wee dog which was fab! Will be back! Nice breakfast.

What a lovely find. We stayed for 1 night on our journey round scotlsnd. Wonderful position in the town and contempory decor by the side of a pretty river. Staff were wonderfully attentive and the room was outstanding.

Very friendly and welcoming Hotel, great breakfast and a large dinner selection. Dalbeattie is one of the cleanest towns I have ever visited and great little shops, worth a visit

Have stayed at the Birchtree a few times ,The rooms are very comfortable ,clean & nice decor ! The staff are all friendly and very helpful ! nothing is a bother ! it has a lovely bar which is spotlessly clean & on a nice day there is a lovely beer garden overlooking the river !There is also a lovely park virtually across the road from Hotel nice for a walk down by the river ! allways a very pleasant stay @ the Birchtree !we will be back !!

The hotel is situated by a river and we were given a river view room which was lovely. The room has lovely decor. We had one issue with cleanliness which we reported so hopefully will be sorted. We had a very enjoyable evening meal in the bar and service was excellent. Breakfast although nice took a long time. I think was because of staffing issues. Definitely really good value for money. I would stay there again if we were in the area. A fab pitstop.

Fantastic place. We all had Ebikes and the hotel staff were acomodating to storage & charging of these. The breakfasts were great and flexible is serving times. I highly recommend this hotel

Stayed here for the night after a visit to the Red Kite feeding station. We had the Sweetheart Abbey suite which was lovely. Massive big comfy bed and pillows and large bath to soak in. We had dinner in the hotel which was delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice to suit everyone. All the staff were friendly and could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again.

Stopped off into this lovely hotel for Sunday lunch today. We ate in the bar area which was comfortable and nicely decorated. We ordered the Sunday roast which was a delight. The roast beef was melt in the mouth, the sides were plentiful and cooked to perfection. All topped off with tasty gravy. Can’t recommend this place highly enough for a meal. Will definitely be back.
