We arrived at the lodge after a long drive and it was pretty much idylic set in the countryside with a field of very friendly Icelandic horses for neighbours. The lodge was clean, tidy and beautiful. The beds were comfortable and it had all the amenities we needed. Being so far out in the country, you need to take your own suppies, but this is to be expected. We didn't use the electrical appliances so can't couch for their efficiency.

This cabin was really tiny. The “kitchen”was almost unusable with only a single hot plate and a microwave to “cook” . There was almost no bench space to prepare a meal. The fridge is a “bar” size which was adequate. There was no coffee pot for the coffee machine and no filter paper of coffee anyway even if we had of found the coffee pot to use it. There was instant coffee and a kettle. There was minimal cutlery and crockery (no spoon to stir food or serve food) and one of the only two coffee cups was badly cracked and chipped. The kitchen sink was so small you could not physically wash anything in it. We had to wash the cooking dishes in the bathroom sink and even then that was difficult. The bathroom was adequate but again very small. There was one double bed punched up against the wall and a small table with two chairs. There was barely space to put any suit cases. We left most of our items in our car. For the price this was very poor value. After traveling in Iceland for 16 days and staying in other guest houses and cabins and paying a similar price we felt this was over priced for what you got.

Look at the cabin in the middle of nowhere, the bathroom is very nice and inside the cabin you can't even hear the wind and it's clean and the sheets are very soft, something that has surprised me for the better. There is a table and two chairs at least. But the curtains are made of cigarette paper so you can't darken the cabin and in June there is light 24 hours a day. The bed against the wall seems something I hate and of course the price of a hotel in the center of a European city. The kitchen only has one pot so I couldn't even make an omelette, so many big pots for tea that take up too much space and for nothing. Plastic spoons, I'm amazed. The small fridge is used to store your food. A toaster but I don't have instant coffee. There isn't a minimum closet, that's what hotels have. They put the two cabins with a bathroom together and with the cars in the middle, imagine the views. The 5 km of unpaved road F was fine, thank God, the only thing missing was to screw up the rental car by sleeping in a cabin. But the prices that are being set in Iceland after the pandemic are enough to make them ask for their passport when they go on a trip and raise our prices three times as much, so they will feel this comment firsthand.
