Cumberland Inn and Spa

Very nice and inexpensive inn. Some rooms share bathrooms. Walkable to downtown Cumberland. Convenient to the bike trails and Amtrak. It has ambience which missing in so many chain hotels.

While the room was lovely, it was sparse. The people were not there to check us in. We got a door code by text and our room key was in the room door. There were NO amenities in the room. We had to search out a couple of cups for water from where they had a coffee and tea service. The history of the location is cool and you think you are staying in a historic inn you really weren’t. Pay a little more and stay in the Fairfield Inn, that is what we will do the next time in Cumberland.

We have stayed here before and continue to enjoy our stays here. It’s very pleasant accommodations reasonably priced.

Thanks for the memories 1 night stay during road trip. Quaint town made more fun by staying in quirky inn. Space was comfortable & quiet, innkeepers were responsive to inquiries. Easy parking. Will treasure the memories!

Did Washington stay here? I'm not sure if Washington stayed here but he definitely was nearby. 18th century building certainly has the post colonial vibe. Tall ceilings, old staircase, lots of woodwork. The inn seems to be in varying degrees of remodel. I was intrigued by the "spa" part of "inn and spa" so I booked a room then was informed that the spa in the basement had flooded so no spa treatments. I love old historic hotels and inns but this one could use a bit more updating. I had room #1, the first room on the left of the front door. I liked the textured wall paper and big bed though one side definitely was a bit sunken. There was an attempt at an updated bathroom but it's now worn and dated. Bathroom cleanliness was not great. But the price was right and check in was clear and easy. There was a good coffee shop a few doors down. With the right remodeling, this place could be a real gem.
