Great rooftop view, nice rooms, charming atmosphere. Kind host that was super helpful. The host provided me with a map and recommendations. It was great to be in the center of everything. I loved just opening my windows and looking down at the busy plaza.

Honestly couldn’t recommend more!! Stayed here at the time of the riots in Peru, when i desperately wanted to get there. Tony was beyond helpful, coming to the bus station with me to help understand the situation + what my options were, also super flexible about what we were could do re extending our stay (+ leaving super last minute!!). Breakfast is not included, but the mercado across the plaza has everything you could ever need for a maximum of $2!

Avoid!!! I arrived at about 5:30 at night, had a booking confirmed for over a week and NOBODY WAS THERE!
Rang the bell, messaged and tried to call several times - no reply! People from the shops below were even trying to help me contact them.
Finally ******* customer service helped find me another place to stay, which was thankfully nearby, nicer and less expensive.
I'm a pretty experienced traveler but this was kind of scary. I'm a woman, alone, in a new city and it was starting to get dark and cold. I'd just arrived after a 4 hour bus trip and luckily my phone still had some charge.
I rely on booking through ******* so this never happens (and this was the first time.) I think properties like this should be banned from trusted platforms like *******.
The property did message me three days later to say sorry and wish me a good stay in Cuenca.

Tony´s place is such a great spot to start a tour in and out of Cuenca. The hostel is in a charming old building, you get a key to the place so there´s no curfew. The roof terrace is the most peaceful and romantic place you can imagine, right above the Plaza 9 de Octubre. Tony is a fantastic host who´s always willing to help.
