Travelled to the George 1V Hotel with Gibbons coaches for 5 days. Porterage took our cases to the room as we waited for our pass key, very nice and pleasant reception staff. Took the lift to our room 126 on the first floor. The lift was very speedy and only took seconds to our floor. The room was lovely, spacious, very clean, plenty of storage space for your clothes, hairdryer available to use, there's also nice big mirrors. A very well decorated and really clean shower and toilet, constant hot water available, there was also pleasant gel available for the shower and your hands attached on the wall in a container to use. Very comfortable bed, and the room was lovely and warm. Only the view was a little disappointing from our window. But that wouldn't stop me from booking again. The restaurant is very spacious, very nice staff. Lovely decorated with fab lights in the ceiling, some parts have carpets while the other floor in the centre seems laminated. Theres menues on the table to choose from, you serve yourself with the cereals, but the cooked breakfast is brought by the staff to your table. Various dishes are available for evening meals, including salad, baked potatoes, various afters, and homemade soup to die for as they are delicious. Breakfast is at 8am, and evening meals are 6pm. The hotel is really comfortable. Very nice lounge areas, a lovely entertainment room with a dance floor, plenty of comfortable seating available, with lovely staff to serve you, also artists in the evenings and bingo available to keep you entertained. The price of the alcohol is no different from home prices, the staff knew immediately what i wanted after the first night and even brought the drinks to my table due to my hubby having mobility issues which was so lovely of them, even put a straw in his glass of lager as he needs to use one due to his health. The toilets to use near the reception are very clean and pleasant to use. There is also a gel container on the door handel that releases gel on opening the door. Lovely carpeted areas all around the lounges, which is so soft to walk on, some lovely dark wood around, the staircase is fab leading to the restaurant area. All the staff are so nice, pleasant and courteous, along with the manager that made us welcome when we arrived at the hotel, and also when we left he thanked us for staying at the hotel, wished us a safe journey home. Had a very lovely 5-day break, had glorious weather, and stayed in a great hotel, so im a very happy customer, and so is my hubby. Highly recommended 👌

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room at this hotel. I'd booked a cosy double but it was really big! It had a newly refurbished bathroom with a fantastic shower, there was also lovely clean bedding and fluffy white towels, a great first impression. The only slight negatives were firstly that I was woken at around 2am by someone walking down the very creaky corridor, this happened on 2 nights (then I used my earplugs) so I guess it was a member of staff checking to see which rooms had the sign out asking for their room to be cleaned the following day. I know it's an old hotel and nothing can be done about the creaking but perhaps they could make their rounds before midnight or after 6am. Secondly the curtains in my room ended about 3 or 4 inches above the window sill making the room very light almost all night at this time of year, perhaps the hems could be let down! Neither was a big issue and those two things aside, I had a lovely stay. The staff were all friendly and the food was good, with a particularly good choice at breakfast. The food was hot and fresh and served by pleasant staff, the only change I'd like to see made is to offer say fruit salad rather than grapefruit at breakfast. On the whole this hotel caters for older guests, many of whom take statins and so can't eat grapefruit, other than that there was a good choice of hot and cold food including vegetarian and vegan options. The hotel is on the Main Street and about 5 minutes walk down to the beach so ideally situated. I really enjoyed my stay, I hope my slight criticisms are viewed as constructive, I'd certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area.

My husband and I stayed here as part of an Alfa Coach holiday and we were so pleased with the standard of cleanliness and how welcoming and friendly the staff were. The food was lovely and nothing too much trouble. The range of food options meant there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was just a shame there wasn't a garden for guests to sit in but it didn't detract from an enjoyable stay with the beach a five minute walk away. Thank you to Hamid and his great team. We would have no hesitation in staying here again in the future. Best wishes Michelle and Lindsey Elford.

Good 4 night stay as part of a group - staff friendly, room on top floor as requested - meals presented well and good choice - lift available, breakfast plentiful, although busy felt welcome.

Overall experience was good, the staff were very courteous and efficient, and the food was as expected for somewhere that caters for coach tours. However, the single room was situated on the 3rd floor of the hotel, and this appeared to be a converted attic room. Whilst the weather on the week's visit was very hot, the room was extremely hot with very little ventilation apart from a small velux type window. A fan is provided, but that just moved warm air around. Could do with some sort of air conditioning. It was very hard to sleep at night.

Very large and old hotel, mostly suited to “coach trips”. We booked last minute and were travelling in a car around Wales. The hotel was full of elderly people on coach trips who were loving life. They were very accommodating though but the breakfast room was like a school canteen. Was suitable for our plans for just one night. Adequate.

Spent 6 nights here with Alfa Travel. I'd been to Criccieth before but never stayed. This hotel is ideally suited to explore North Wales and we made good use of it for this. Staff, food, service and rooms were excellent for the price we paid. Would consider going again.
