Nice clean and attractive place. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our group and we were shown to a table immediately, it wasn't very busy. We were able to order drinks within 10mins, after another 10 mins we ordered 3 starters this took about 15 mins to be served and we then ordered our mains,so not too bad. It was about 50 mins before we were served our mains but it felt a lot longer and we were wondering if they had forgot about us. We had ordered 2 cottage pies, fish and chips and 2 burgers. The burger's were ok but the cottage pies were very salty for some reason, we complained but received no explanation. I had the fish and chips. The fish I would say was about 60 percent batter, very little fish. The chunky chips were over cooked and quite a few of the chips were like crisps.

The food was delicious, staff very friendly and attentive, there was a lovely atmosphere and Loxi the live singer was amazing. The bedroom needed a little tlc but nothing detrimental. We would definitely stay here again.

Just popped in for food and it was very tasty indeed . The pub reopened a couple of weeks ago and it looks really nice inside . we had the beef cheeks and steak . Must say it was one of the nicest meals we’ve eaten for ages . We had the potatoes instead of chips and wow they were the best potatoes I’ve ever tasted

Popped in twice now for food and drinks this month since the Wheatsheaf recently changed hands. Always was a lovely spot, this beautiful country pub has really come to life. Great menu and choice of drinks. Excellent wine list at very fair prices. Well worth a trip to the countryside!

Lovely home-cooked food, and a room at a good value. Unfortunately, there was no breakfast, but I was warned about that and had a larger dinner instead. The customer service was excellent, and thanks to the team for a lovely stay. Not a lot to do close by but great for a stop over before moving on.

We went as a couple for Sunday lunch, and we were not disappointed. The food was hot, with massive portion sizes, and really tasty. We even managed a pudding, too, which was just as good. Great value for money. Nice friendly staff. Quick service. I would recommend to anyone to go.

Visited for the 50% Off Main Meals offer. Very busy with diners when we arrived - so it's been a popular offer and means great value on food. The indoor environment and decor is very pleasant. I had Chicken Supreme - good quality ingredients nicely cooked and presented. The chargrilled chicken breast was particularly good. Was expecting a sauce to be included in the price tbh, but still very nice and worth the wait. My vegetarian partner had the Butternut Squash filo pastry parcel and veg plus gravy. She enjoyed it very much and ate nearly all of it. She said it makes a change to have decent, flavoursome veggie food which isn't just a token to vegetarians!! What convinced her to go out for this meal was a previous pic of the dish posted by a fellow vegetarian on Google. Our food wait time was 40 minutes, but it was busy - so just about acceptable. Service was sporadic and not madly attentitive and we had to chase on a few occasions. Be warned when paying, there is a sneaky service charge on top of the menu prices!!!!!!!!!

a lovely stay, not expensive either at £72 b and b, it a pub with rooms on a main road, despite other reviews we were not disturbed by either. We arrived very very early, byr were allowed to check in an early and get a few hours shut eye to recover from a long journey. We had a pre dinner drink, cask ales were on top form, cocktails were fun and imaginative, Food for 6 was excellent, staff were brilliant and friendly. Breakfast was amazing, beware the full cooked, top notch and huge, check out and cheerios were also lovely..thank you guys one thing we struggle to understand.. we had a table booked for 6 , 4 adults two youngsters for 6.00pm iirc, we asked if we could pull the time forward a bit for the children...there were plenty of empty tables.. but were told NO, as our table hadn't been allocated, then at the prescribed time, we were shown to a table that had been empty since 5.00pm... odd, but only a minor niggle
