AVOID AT ALL COSTS. While traveling in California with poor cell service, my elderly, disabled veteran client attempted to book a room. He lost service while trying to complete the reservation. When service returned, the rate had jumped beyond what he could afford on his fixed income. He immediately called to resolve the issue, and the woman assured him there was NO reservation in his name. She did let him know a more expensive two-queen room was available. Believing he had no booking, he moved on. Later, he discovered he’d been charged the full rate. He immediately emailed to try to dispute the charge. The amount may be insignificant to the hotel, but it’s a meaningful amount for someone on a fixed income. When I called, the general manager (Eric Castro) was rude, argumentative, and repeatedly interrupted me. He had absolutely no accountability or empathy for an honest mistake made by a non-tech-native elderly client. Disgusting. Having worked in hospitality for over a decade, I know “nothing we can do” is simply an excuse. Eric Castro is dishonest, unprofessional, and showed no respect for veterans or the elderly. Spend your money elsewhere.

I do not usually leave negative reviews, but in this case I felt I would be doing other travelers a disservice not to. The hotel was advertised as pet friendly. I showed up with my cat after a long day of driving, only to be turned away. I try to be a good traveler and do my due diligence researching any hotel I stay at - nowhere on their website or anywhere in the booking was it stated that cats were not allowed. I feel most people's plain English understanding of "pet friendly" would lead one to assume cats are allowed.
