Disappointing stay The hotel staff were very friendly. We were given a classic room and discovered that the wash hand basin was severely cracked. We reported this immediately and were told a new one was on order,no offer of a room change despite the hotel being very quiet. We feel that as a 4 star hotel, guests should not be placed in a room that has a damaged hand basin. It was a disappointing stay.

Whoooooo spooky Very much a Ghosts of Motley Hall hotel. I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to my room yet the hotel seemed to have very few guests - not sure what that was all about. The staff do try their best but the place seems to be run by management from an Agatha Christie novel. My room had such a tiny bathroom too.

We have just been here for my birthday weekend, now I have to say it was quite a nice hotel, we stayed in a junior suite and it was a big room with comfy bed and pillows and it was also nice and clean. All the staff were lovely and friendly and food was also quite good. However I do think it needs some updating it's quite old fashioned and wore in places it needs some money spending on it. In our opinion not a patch on Swinton Park or Grantley Hall I wouldn't return.

Absolutely outsanding in every way.The Hall is a beautifully elegant building and unlike alot of hotels there are quiet spaces to sit and relax which makes a refreshing change. It feels like you have been invited to stay in a beautiful stately home. The rooms are beautifully clean and welcoming The grounds are stunning We had booked our daughters wedding here and had booked it all last year so our daughter wanted us to visit for a wedding showcase as we hadnt been for a while. The staff make Crathorne Hall really special. The reception staff are oustanding, polite and welcoming. We met Emma and Becca and they couldnt be more helpful.Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made you feel really special. We were looking at a portrait in the hall way and one of the staff came back to us with a family tree and leaflet on the history of the hall. Gloria and Beowa are absolutely brilliant and so helpful doing breakfasts and lunches. They work really hard but are always smiling, cheerful and asking if there is anything they can do for you. They even remember what people like to drink etc. Cant speak highly enough of them. They were saying they do canapes at the wedding and you just feel they will look after everyone so well. Alan who was in charge at dinner and also at breakfast is so knowledgeable and helpful about all the food and drink and which vinyards wine comes from and is calm and keeps everything running smoothly. You can see him quietly going about checking everything is as it should be.He was also at the wedding showcase and again couldnt be more helpful. Our daughter visted with her fiancee for dinner and we were having a read before dinner and Alan was asking them about the books they were reading and he had a really good chat about the author. Gilmar the sommelier was so good with wine choices and made you feel special even when you were just getting house wine he told you all about it and where it came from and which wine would be best with you meals.I have been to some places where there is a bit of snootiness about wine but not here. Wedding team at the showcase, Jo and Aurora were really good and even though we had already booked the weddding they still made a fuss of us and also wanted to know if they could help with any questions or queries and put you at your ease. You felt you could ask anything without feeling silly. There is always anxiety about a wedding but they made you feel calm. While we were talking to Jo and Aurora there was a gentleman called Simon who could tell us every bit of history about the hotel. His name was Simon and he has worked there for 37 years! I dont know the names of cleaning staff but all credit to them eveywhere is kept really clean and well presented with fresh flowers etc and the hotel is beautifully presented. Food is also a highlight all meals are excellent. We had breakfasts lunch and dinners and it was all delicious and beautifully presented. The food is absolutely amazing.Aternoon teas also
