Property Description
Ride into DuPont from this chill house on 6.5 acres. This is the perfect spot for those who want to bike & hike at DuPont. A great quiet location on the NE edge of DuPont at the base of Rocky Ridge. You can jump directly onto the trails & there is easy access to Brevard, Pisgah, & H-ville. This modest house is well-kept and comfortable. It has 2 regular bedrooms and one small sleep room. The kitchen is nicely renovated and ready for cooking. There are 2 covered decks (the larger one is a main 'hang out' area!). The garage gives you a place to store or work on your bikes. We have a fire ring, a gas grill, & a wood-burning stove, all backed up by central HVAC along with a backup generator. The house sleeps 5 comfortably, with: A master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bathroom, and a covered deck; a bedroom with 2 twin beds; one small bedroom with a twin bed. The small bedroom was a very large walk-in closet for the master bedroom which we converted to a comfortable sleep room. It is paneled in cedar & has recessed lights. A door to the hall gives easy access to the hall bathroom. The original louvered 'pocket door' between this small bedroom and the master bedroom provides some privacy. It's fine for adults. It is particularly good for families when younger children prefer to sleep close to their parents during a family trip. The living room and dining area blend with an open flow to the remodeled kitchen. The living room has a comfortable couch and a reading chair sitting in front of a wood-burning stove. The dining table has space for 6 and is also a good place to gather (a good spot for games). The updated kitchen is great, with plenty of counter & cabinet space and a gas stove. We have several well-seasoned cast iron skillets and good-quality stainless steel pots, a coffee bean grinder, a standard coffee machine, and a French press. The kitchen is well-equipped. The "best room in the house" may be the large covered deck off the Living/Dining room area with a table for outdoor dining and a mid-sized gas grill. As long as the temperature is good, this is likely where you'll enjoy most meals and gather. The separate garage is ideal for storing bikes. There is a bike stand, a workbench, and a compressor. Please bring your own bike tools. Please note - we are constantly making both big & small improvements on the house. We installed new floors and painted the exterior recently. You’ll see the new Forest Green color and the new wide plank floors in some pictures here. Feel free to send questions - we are happy to clarify anything. We enjoy the personal engagement aspect of hosting and enjoy getting to know our guests, even though we will not meet in person (you will have the place to yourself!).About pets:Pets allowed: dogs (limit 2 total).About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Our house is not set up for infants or toddlers..About customRules:If you bring a dog, they may not be left unattended in the house unless crated, they may not be allowed to roam free, and please pick up after them..We can not accommodate events or additional guests. Great place to stay for our family of 3. The house was very clean and included the majority of the conveniences we’re used to. Internet and phone worked great while we were there. The owners are very responsive and great to deal with. As the name suggests, it’s also a great base camp for mtb riders or road bikers. The 20-25 minute drive into town isn’t bad and Hendersonville is a super cool little city. Overall we had a great stay and look forward to planning another trip in the future.

Wonderful location We enjoyed our stay at David’s place! The location was perfect for riding mountain bikes. Ridgeline from the driveway, what more can you ask for. The property was peaceful and lovely. Really enjoyed the back porch and all the birds. Kitchen was stocked with all we needed. The bike storage was great! Highly recommend!

Great outdoor base camp for the area Great location situated at the north end of Dupont State Park for any outdoor activities. Super close to both Brevard and Hendersonville for all food and other amenities. The house and property were perfectly setup for mountain biking with a detached garage specifically for that purpose. House was well furnished, felt great to relax in after being out biking most of the day, and the drive way in and out of the property is very much manageable for a mountain road (even for lowered vehicles and compared to many other driveways we saw in the area). The owner David was super communicative, easy to talk to about anything with the house, and very honest and up front on anything. If you are planning a trip in this area and are an avid mountain biker, hiker, or just enjoy the outdoors, would put this place very high on your list of places to stay in the area.
