Hotel Barracuda

I’ve been staying at the Barracuda since 2011, every couple years. It is not a resort or high-star rated hotel. It’s a very basic hotel - awesome location and a place to sleep for your dive trips. Pros: •Affordable - clean but basic, good AC. •On the water, all rooms ocean-facing, great sunsets. •Most/all dive ops will pick you up from their pier. •Across the street from Mega, best place for groceries and general shopping on the island. •Short walk to downtown restaurants and shopping. We generally don’t need to take taxis anywhere. Cons: •It’s basic. Don’t expect a luxury resort. Just a home base for diving - where you will spend most of your time diving, eating elsewhere, shopping. Don’t stay here if you want the resort experience and lounging around all day. •During the day it caters to the cruise ship staff. So it’s not quiet. But they will all leave before 5, so it’s quiet in the evenings. Again, the suitability is based on your vacation/lifestyle choices.

The hotel staff were very friendly, but the breakfast attendants were not. Breakfast consisted of a serving of fruit with tea or coffee and egg on toast, sadly on my last day of stay this was inedible. The pool / pool is in another hotel that is approx 5 min walk away. The room included two single and a half beds, which is not comfortable for a couple to sleep in. There are no rooms with a larger bed. The location is super central, next to the center and many places to visit.
Caribo Cozumel

We reserved the private en-suite for one night as we stopped in to Cozumel just to go do some scuba diving. The reservation process was easy and it was hassle free. We received a code shortly after payment processed. Received a message with all of the info we needed and connected with one of the people from the property management. We ended up getting in late evening but we actually got to meet the owner of the b&b. She mentioned to us that it was the first b&b in Cozumel. It was a very comfy and homey vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out. You definitely get your bang for your buck with the en-suite. Clean and comfy. A/C and fan worked great. Warm and cold water. Did the job for us to get good rest before a day full of scuba diving. They also let us store our luggage for the day after we checked out and went scuba diving! They are very kind
