I have stayed here at least 10 times, possibly more but my calendar doesn’t go back any further. During these years there has been at least 4 different managers. As I am a regular guest, my last booking, I assumed the status quo, not being aware of the changes the current manager has made. Unfortunately this offended them inadvertently. My recent stay was for 2 rooms as I was with my 87 year old mum. My mums room door popped open, she awoke at 3am to find her door wide open, this troubled her, I assumed user error. I checked this the next day & ensured door was locked, again it popped open, so my husband went looking for some assistance (after 8pm), none available, so we popped chairs by the door to avoid it swinging wide open, letting in bugs and leaving her feeling exposed and vulnerable. I did report this on check out, they were fully aware of this issue, due to the recent floods. I understood, but suggested if I had known, I would have requested to swap rooms with me and my mum, and put chairs against the door from the very 1st night. Managers response was “there is no-one around, it doesn’t matter”. It did matter to my 87 year old mum! Manager got quite irate and made all sorts of accusations, bring up my offensive booking expectations. Good luck.
