This hotel is absolutely fab. It is a quiet place, away from the main town. I came for a skiing trip and although a distance away from the main gondola of Dolonne, there are regular shuttles to & from the hotel. I chose to walk there and back and it is around 800m. Good for stretch out 'before skiing' & warm down 'after skiing'. The owners are just delightful and the staff are superb. I would like to pay particular appreciation to Manuel & Veronica (in the restaurant) who were the absolute best. The rooms are a wee bit small (well mine was) but let's face it, what do you really need when skiing - yep, somewhere to collapse! Rooms were cleaned up each day and the towels are 'to die for.' The entire hotel is clean (nay spotless) every single day. The bar is well stocked and there are nibbles laid on for you, every evening. Breakfast starts at 07:30 and I have no idea until what time cuz I was on the slopes every day by 08:30. Evening meals are at 19:30 until you leave. There are probably about 50 covers, which tells you how compact and quaint the hotel is. There is a ski boot room where you can store your gear. However my advice, especially if booking with Crystal is to pay the 27 euros for a locker and ski store on the mountain, it made life 100x easier. Crystal use a company called Alpineve, which is next to the top of the Dolonne Gondola. It is so useful. I have rated this hotel a 5 and I have never done that before. It is simply lovely but do not expect booming sounds and a lively bar/town atmosphere, you'll need to go into Courmayeur centre for that. Even the cleaning team are a pleasure and always ready to stand and have a quick chat, they work very hard. The decore is very mountain feel with old ski's, butter churns, original oil paintings everywhere, various mountain trinkets (oh, not forgetting the 1,000,000 mountain goat skulls that are mounted - weirdly felt right) and other stuff. If I were to sum this place up in one word... it would be 'delightful'. There is only one downside to Dei Camosci, the food portions are massive. When I say massive, I MEAN MASSIVE. The food waste is far too much, even though the quality of the meals was ABSOLUTELY outstanding. I felt awful leaving food that was cooked to such a high standard. We were treated to an appetizer (always beautiful), a starter (size of a main meal) and a main meal (size of two meals). I kid you not, you will not be disappointed with the standard & taste. Not-withstanding the volume of food, this hotel gets a 6 out of 5 for me. I will return to Courmayeur one day, and I will 100% definitely be staying here again. Thank you to all the hotel owners and workers. You made a holiday into something much more special.
