Residence Le Grand Chalet

I absolutely cannot fault Residence Le Grand Chalet. We visited for 6 nights as a group of 3 families with children from 2-15 years old on a February half term ski trip and we were warmly welcomed by Frederica who stayed late for our arrival - so kind. The other receptionist was also delightful, I think her name was Dominique, she always had big smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms are basic but well equipped, comfortable, spotlessly clean and we had an amazing mountain view from our balcony that wowed us every morning when we opened the curtains. We all used the little lounge area by reception to socialise in the evenings and the kids loved the pool which is small but a welcome treat after a long day skiing. Another lovely member of staff let our children stay beyond the pool’s closing time as she said she could see how much fun they were having. The flexibility of being able to prepare light meals in the kitchenette was great as it kept costs down on eating out and we made sandwiches for lunch on the slopes. There is a small supermarket called ‘A&O’ just a 2 min walk away which has all the essentials. Location-wise Le Grand Chalet cannot be beaten. It’s a stone’s throw from the main gondola up to Plan Checrouit where the ski hire shops and lifts to the slopes begin. The stroll into the centre of town takes 10 mins or so, depending on how fast you walk and how many shops you stop at en route! I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook Le Grand Chalet and fully intend to stay here again if we return to Courmayeur. It really did tick every box for us. Highly recommended.

Super hotel right near the slopes, comfortable rooms, very friendly & welcoming staff, underground parking, and nice pool/spa area. Great views of the mountains & a very short walk into town where there are endless bars and lovely restaurants.
