All I can say is avoid. Lanzarote is lovely. Bluebay is not. Currently still stuck here with 2 more nights to go... First 3 days here was just okay. The food is fine and the staff are friendly. Only issues noted was a lot of dead pests around the site, missing towels and bedding for our child, toilets in the pool and reception not cleaned regularly enough and finally the toilet brush in the room having previous people's 'mess' on it.... These where things we were able to look past so we just enjoyed our holiday. Like many others, we read the reviews after booking and also heard from other holiday makers on day 2 and 3 about the cockroach situation... That evening when we went to bed, we had one run across my partners face in her sleep! I was given insect spray and told we were getting a deep clean the next day. You couldn't really call it a deep clean. No new bedding was provided for our child, the kitchen area hadn't been cleaned and under the bed was still covered in dirt/ dust. I went and asked reception if they had found and removed the cockroach. They called the cleaning manager and told me they have done a deep clean as per their check list but wouldn't confirm if they had removed the pest!! I have contacted Jet2 and I am awaiting their response as I feel its their duty to remove such an awful place from their advertisements. The hotel have said 'occasional sightings' of cockroaches happen but from these reviews and my own experience, this is hardly occasional when I have seen over 10 in one day. The cleaning staff also fail to clear any dead cockroaches, just adding to the appeal of this hotel. We saw the same dead cockroaches left on the stairs outside for 3 days. This place needs to be reviewed by local authorities for health and hygiene asap. Do not book. Save your money.

We stayed here 8th-15 July, 2 adults. 2 teenagers. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was extremely spacious. The room was slightly damp when we arrived, which I think was down to air con. Didn’t have an issue again after the first night. Cleaners came everyday except a Wednesday, however they are not keen to replace towels. Cleaners just hangs old towels up. Restaurant staff are all great, very quick to get you seated and to clear your table when finished. Food was good, always a good selection. We found breakfast the best meal of the day, however the pizzas are amazing. Never eat at the snack bar so cannot comment. Great size pool, they allow inflatables, but it is freezing. It’s ok once you get in. Football pitch is great for the kids, I would recommend taking a table tennis bat and ball with you for the table. Sunbed wars are very frustrating, all reserved by 8am. Daytime entertainment is okay, but I have seen better. They stop at 15:00 and that’s when the music stops around the pool. Evening entertainment is tucked away in a room behind the pool tables. Something on every night, which is good. Drinks are also served in glasses in the evening. I would recommend eating at black bull and Lotus if you like Indian food. Visit the water park, which is a short walk from the hotel and jet skiing. Dont expect the ritz, but the hotel is not as bad as some of the reviews on here.

We travelled as a family of 6, 4 adults and 2 children. We like everyone else read the reviews and were dreading our arrival. Upon our late arrival to the hotel, the check in took forever. This was due to one member of staff being on shift and the long check in process. The room itself was dated but for somewhere to sleep it did the job. We had a small issue with the toilet flusher being broken but this was fixed. The maids came every day but Wednesday to clean the room but we were told the towels would be replenished every 3 days and even after we left them on the bathroom floor, the maids were just hanging them back up dirty! We were on the ground floor of the hotel and there was no issue with mould like others had in previous reviews. However we saw an awful lot of cockroaches both alive and dead. Some in our bedroom but we found using the spray the hotel provided down the sinks helped this problem go away. The hotel itself needs some work doing to it. There's a lovely bar inside that is never open. The hotel has a lot of plant life and this must make cleaning the place a nightmare as leaves get everywhere. The swimming pool was very cold but fine once you got used to it and I noticed that once the hotel got busier the pool did too and it became very dirty with cups, ice cream tubs and chips in the pool. The sunbed situation was fine at the start of our holiday there was plenty to go around but come the end of our holiday when the hotel was busy, people were leaving their towels on the sunbed for the next day! The food was plentiful and there was enough options both in the restaurant and the snack bar. As the hotel got busier you could notice more queuing for drinks and food but on the whole the food and drinks were spot on. The entertainment was also very good. The entertainment team had plenty of activities you could join in through out the day and there would be a mini disco and a show in the evening except Sundays. The African gymnasts was a highlight! Check out was at 12pm and we could still use the hotel facilities until we left and the hotel would store our luggage in the luggage room. Bit disappointed with the checkout as it was a case of what is your room number and bye. No customer service what so ever there. I wouldn't advise anyone to rebook if they have booked this place already it's a good family holiday and you can make the most of what they have to offer. The beach is close and there are shops and bars nearby. However I will not be returning here in the future. The hotel needs some work doing on it, the sunbed situation was a farce but I believe they are cracking down on it now. But the cockroaches and the cleanliness of the place is enough for me to not go back.

I have been coming to this hotel for 4 years now. The staff are fabulous 👌 Lola, Carlos, Alberto, Nina and Camaria. Animation team, Carolina, she is fabulous! Loved the food. Yea, the rooms need to be updated. Don't take food or sugary drinks into the room as it attracts ants. Cockroaches Fly, so keep the balcony shut. If the visitors put their rubbish in the bins provided, there won't be any rubbish lying around. Remember, Lanzarote is a windy island. We loved our holiday from 14th of July to the 21st.

Hotel was ok bar impossible to get a sunbed!! People are reserving them the night before even when they don’t use them! Hotel don’t do anything or remove the towels. Avoid if you ever want to sit in a sunbed by the pool as Thai won’t happen. Hotel should be removing towels off of unused sunbeds

Sun bed wars at its finest. Hotel has a “no reservation sign” but too scared to enforce it. Families reserving the sun beds by leaving their towels on day and night… some not returning hours later. Staff have no backbone and not prepared to take the towels off on a night as they are too scared of confrontation which is leaving guests to do what they want. Literally cannot get a bed. See photos at 10:30pm not one sun bed available. Blue Bay Lanzarote when do you clean the beds for hygiene purposes? clearly never as the towels are not removed for a week or more at a time. You must agree that is unhygienic and dirty! Sort the issue and get a backbone !!

Currently on day 3 of a 7 day holiday and the 3 days we have been here have already been eventful. Day 1, there were de*d cockroaches everywhere, litter and cups. We got here in the evening so there were a LOT of drunk people which obviously isn’t nice to see especially when you have a child. Then checking into the room, it was extremely hard to find even after we were given a map, the signs can be confusing especially in the dark. The room is extremely old fashioned despite the fact in the pictures online it looks modern. Day 2/3, despite having no windows/doors open we quickly realised there was a cockroach in the kitchen which was obviously disgusting so who knows how it got in there. There are queues to get into the dining room and the entertainment room and also for drinks. There is not one single chance of getting a sun bed and if you do you are very lucky. The food is OK, but we are going to happily explore the restaurants that are around the area because we feel like we won’t be missing out at the hotel. The entertainment doesn’t start until 9:30 and in my opinion is too late. The positives are the staff are nice, the taxis are cheap and there are wheelchair users that are currently here so the hotel must be accessible enough to accommodate to them.
