Quiet and Relaxing Atmosphere: The property is ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat, with many visitors appreciating the lack of nightlife and loud entertainment. It is particularly recommended for couples, adults, or those looking to unwind in a serene environment.

If you're booking Hotel Taimar expecting a 4-star experience based on its advertising or star rating prepare for a reality check. I can confidently say this hotel falls well short of that standard in every way. The hotel reception area is more like a minicab office than a hotel lobby. It is sparse, dull and uninviting; it completely lacks any welcoming atmosphere. When we arrived, the receptionist on duty did not want to be there. His attitude confirmed that. He made no effort to be pleasant or explain anything about the hotel or the area, and didn’t want to be asked any questions. He came across as someone who should not be working in a customer-facing role. There is no lounge area, no bar seating in the evening, and no entertainment of any kind. Supermarket-style music plays in the background, but there’s absolutely no atmosphere. The hotel is cold and soulless. The rooms are basic but functional. They lack any charm and are definitely not anything resembling 4-star luxury. If I had booked a budget 2-star hotel, they’d be fine, but for a 4-star? Nowhere near! The hotel is heavily catered towards German, French, and Spanish guests. We couldn’t shake the feeling that English guests weren’t especially welcome. Staff were generally indifferent and not overly friendly. The swimming pool is quite small, and there’s no children’s pool. There’s nothing else in terms of facilities or leisure offerings. The all-inclusive offer is extremely limited. The food is genuinely poor. Everything tasted the same – meats were either undercooked or incredibly dry, pasta was chewy and unappetising, like eating rubber bands, and the sauces all had a strange, unpleasant taste. I’m not a fussy eater, and this is the first time I’ve stayed somewhere where I genuinely couldn’t enjoy a single meal. Desserts were the same everyday mini dry cake, mousse, or basic ice cream – both at lunch and dinner. Completely uninspired and repetitive. There are no snacks unless you consider a mini dry pastry-style croissant left over from breakfast as an offering. Two cocktails are available on AI, and a few spirits, wine and beer - everything else is to be paid for. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There’s nothing nearby – no bars, restaurants, or even a pleasant evening stroll to be had. If you want to see anything, you’ll need to take a bus into Morro Jable (25 minutes away), but don’t miss the last bus or you’ll be stuck paying a high taxi fare. The beach, a 20-minute walk away, and is beautiful. I genuinely can’t imagine who is writing the positive reviews on this place. It is NOT, and I repeat, NOT a 4-star hotel by any stretch. Holiday companies and tour operators seriously need to investigate what they are selling, because it is completely misleading. If you’re looking for a lively, comfortable, welcoming holiday experience with decent food and atmosphere, this is not the place for you. It is a huge let-down and I have advised our holiday representative to investig

My partner and I recently spent a week at Hotel Taimar in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura, a trip we had eagerly anticipated and saved for all year. Despite contacting the hotel prior to our arrival with some concerns, our experience unfortunately fell far short of our expectations for a relaxing holiday. The hotel's location is notably quiet, with very little in the immediate vicinity. While our room was clean, this was one of the few positives we could genuinely highlight. The food quality was a significant letdown. Meals were consistently cold with extremely limited variety, which led to us frequently eating out. The dining room itself was unpleasantly windy; we constantly had to weigh down napkins and sachets to prevent them from blowing away. The pool area was equally problematic. Strong winds created a chaotic environment with cups and other items being blown around. Crucially, there was no shade whatsoever, and the overall appearance felt more akin to a therapist’s pool than a inviting resort space. The advertised shade curtains were zip-tied and completely unusable. Adding to the lack of a holiday atmosphere, there was no entertainment provided during our stay, and no comfortable indoor lounge area to relax in. The entire ambiance felt sterile, more like a hospital than a vacation destination. Our "all-inclusive" package was particularly disappointing. Alcoholic drinks were extremely weak, and there were no snacks offered between meals. Our room had a TV, but frustratingly, there were no available channels. Hygiene was also a concern, as I observed a chef wiping sweat from his face with bare hands, which was quite off-putting. While some staff members were friendly, this was not a consistent experience. It's clear that Hotel Taimar does not live up to the standard of an all-inclusive resort. In stark contrast, our final full day was spent at the Costa Calma Beach Resort with a day pass. That experience was everything Hotel Taimar wasn't – lively, well-equipped, and genuinely felt like a holiday. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Hotel Taimar and would not consider returning.

Hotel Taimar, Costa Calma. We went All Inclusive with Jet2 for 14 nights. 2 adults. Exceptionally clean and modern after a major refurb in 2020. Double room, very spacious with balcony on the 1st floor. No sea view as nowhere near the sea. Shower was amazing and beds incredibly comfortable. Large wardrobe, 4 hangers, shelves and a safe (€30) 15-20 minute walk into Costa Calma town centre (not very much going on in way of shops, bars and restaurants). Beach absolutely stunning which makes up for the town’s shortcomings. This hotel should be advertised as Adults Only, as there is absolutely nothing for children to do there nor catered for. The swimming pool is small and pool toys such as inflatables are not allowed. This hotel should not be advertised as All Inclusive. Although drinks are served at the pool bar from 11.00-6.00, there are NO snacks through the day at all, only that morning’s left over pastries from breakfast are put on the bar around 4.30pm, that is the only food served between meals and only from that bar. You are served drinks by the staff in the restaurant at lunch and dinner, you don’t help yourself like in most All Inclusive hotels. You are NOT allowed to fill water battles from the water machines, if you arrive at night you may have a cup of water each from the water machine in reception, while eating the meal provided for you, other wise there are 2 x 500ml welcome bottles of water in your room. We sat in a dark restaurant at midnight when we arrived. There is nowhere to enjoy drinks in the evenings after dinner as there isn’t a lounge area, just 3 tables with bar stools in the windiest area of the restaurant. The whole restaurant is windy, ridiculously so at times and chilly with it, so take a hoodie or lil jacket. The patio heaters were removed for our last night, we think to discourage anyone staying later than 11pm when the bar closes….on the dot, lights off. There is NO evening entertainment at all. Food was nice, local, had a vegetarian and a pasta option, meat, fish and chips, but a small selection. Not very much going on with desserts though….to my husband’s dismay. The majority of the bar & waiting on staff were efficient and friendly, the kitchen staff were ok if you spoke to them, otherwise silent. The 3 men in reception are German and clearly not used to dealing with English guests politely. We complained about 1 in particular, Max, to our Jet2 rep. When we asked if there was an excursion folder he said “welcome to 2025 people, it’s all online” it wasn’t and what was we couldn’t see anything or way to book. We asked when our Jet2 rep would be along, we were told they didn’t come as it was too quiet a hotel for them to visit. I contacted Jet2 via their welcome App and within 30 minutes a lovely lady called Jona arrived to help and arrange an excursion for us. What reception should have informed us was the Jet2 reps will come out to a pre booked appointment. However once we complained to Jona re: reception’s ru

I stayed here on a solo break for 7 nights and I'm currently writing this from the pool bar as I await my transfer pick up. When I arrived a week ago, it was very late and I was greeted by a very polite gentleman at reception. The hotel had plated some cold food (which was delicious - chicken, salad, fruit and the like) as it was after the restaurant had closed. After a long day with flight delays, this was a lovely touch. He explained very clearly the opening times for everything, and pointed out where my room was with no issue. The food each day has been lovely, there wasn't huge variety but that meant what was there was well thought out and cooked beautifully. Whenever something was starting to empty from the buffet, it was replaced promptly with a fresh batch. The bar staff both in the restaurant and poolside were always polite, friendly and attentive. The only time my room wasn't cleaned was when I placed my 'Do Not Distrub' sign on the door. Every other day, I found my room to be clean, towels replaced, and bed made. The room itself, just like the rest of the hotel, was modern and clean. I loved the entire design of the hotel, it's just what's needed for a relaxing break away. The only downside I would say it that the water refill stations state not to fill bottles up - it's not the end of the world as there's no limit to the amount you can get up for a glass of water, but as someone who drinks at least 2L per day, I'd have liked to have filled a bottle up. Costa Calma itself is very quiet, the walk to the beach is lovely and there are lots of lovely running routes in the area. Despite it being remote, I didn't at any point feel unsafe, and it was a perfect break away. If you're wanting something lively and to get hammered every night, then I'd stay elsewhere, however, that isn't everyone's cup of tea. Hotel Taimar was exactly my cup of tea.

The hotel was isolated. Costa calma had little to offer. You had to catch a bus or a taxi to get anywhere. The all inclusive package was not value for money. No water, food only available at meal times, breakfast was good but offerings at lunch and dinner were mediocre at best. There was nowhere inside to sit of an evening to relax apart from the restaurant. The reception did not display any information regarding activities or places to go. There was no safety/fire evacuation instructions in the room. One of our party had a blocked shower drain one evening and their room flooded. As there was no hotel staff available they had to fix the issue and clear up the mess themselves.

Great room large and clean. Reception staff were great as I had left my jacket on the transfer coach and they tried everything to get it back. Pool area and pool good. Not much in surrounding area but nice walk to the beach . Market Sunday and Wednesday very good. Local bus very good to Morro Jable nice place with shops . Food - breakfast good, Lunch/evening meal ok but not great typical all inclusive food. All in All we had a nice break for a reasonable cost .
