The hotel is not really a 3 Star, more like 2. The hotel is looking very tired and could do with some real TLC to update the décor and facilities. Positives: All Staff were friendly and helpful; plenty of sun beds and choice of location of sunbeds; good size swimming pool. Breakfast choice of food was good. So So's: Pool was salt water, which is not ideal but no doubt far cheaper to run. Water from shower in room was decent strength but only really warm, never hot. Towels were changed every couple of days which was just about bearable, as was the fact that for 2 days per week the rooms are not cleaned. Negatives: Beds undoubtedly the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel. Mattresses were thin and old, you could feel the springs. Pillows also uncomfortable. All drinks - which were non branded - were served in small wine glasses or shorts glasses, including the beer. I have never been to any hotel which did not served draft beer in proper beer glasses. Presumably they did this to save money. Food choices were very limited for lunch and dinner and catered for more a German and Spanish palate. I was violently sick with a stomach bug for 2 days, then immediately afterwards so was my wife for 2 days, which was a substantial chunk of our holiday. After being ill we did not eat any lunch or dinner from the hotel. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the small amount of restaurants. There is one good sports bar that shows the football and serves excellent food, which was a life saver. If you want a cheap break, quite a long way from anything at a cheap hotel this would suit you. Personally going forward I would spend a bit more to stay in a better quality hotel where the facilities and food are that much better. I would not go back to this particular area as it was a predominately German and Spanish resort. Perhaps the north of the Island might be a little more British
