We only booked a few weeks ago, needed a week in the sunshine, and here fitted the bill, cheap and cheerful. We had been to Costa calma many years ago so knew it was very quiet, we walked on the beach every morning and still managed to get sunbeds every afternoon. Rooms ok, clean and plenty of space, but could do with a fridge. Beds comfy, pillows thin but ok for us. The only British station on the tv was bbc world news, not very entertaining. Food was ok, you won’t go hungry but a bit sameish, nothing exciting or really tasty, there is a microwave in the corner to heat it up. Beer, wine and soft drinks available to self serve, spirits served by bartenders, you can pay extra for branded drinks. There is only one restaurant for breakfast and evening meals, it’s closed at lunchtime, you have to use the pool bar, again it’s the same every day, awful looking burgers and hotdogs, but the Germans seem to like them. Generally, cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for so don’t set your expectations high. It’s just ok, full stop. Our big disappointment was the entertainment, in over 40 years of travelling, this was the most amateur, clueless, unrehearsed rubbish ever, school plays would outshine it. Wednesday night was a duo, not too bad, Saturday night was a Motown duo, not too bad, but they were both only on for about an hour, the rest of the time was kids disco, musical chairs, crap quizzes, bingo, all truly awful. And with the hotel being isolated, there’s nowhere else to walk to. The lounge bar is like gods waiting room, there’s more atmosphere on the moon. Luckily we met some nice people so our evenings weren’t a complete right off. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we would not go back.
