Executive Residency by Best Western Corpus Christi

We had our first vacation in 3 years and we went back here. When we first stayed here years ago it was amazing, clean, everything worked well, you felt safe. This time, not so much. The location is amazing, close enough to Padre to go to the beach within 15 mins, you can walk with and fish under the underpass. Be aware the pet fee is $30 per pet, per day. We brought our two small dogs (sub 15 lbs each) and that cost 66% of the room fee daily. We're used to a single charge per day not per pet. And the grass around the entire property is full of sand burrs, check you dogs fur and paws regularly. Check in went smoothly, we got in, got to our room 222, noticed the room was hot, turned on the AC then left to go fishing. We got back, it was still warm but the thermostat said 70°. We took showers, settled in and had our dinner (B&J's pizza 10/10 recommend). It was still warm but we had gotten acclimated, we told the front desk and she made a note and asked us to report back in the morning. We went down for breakfast when we got back in the room after breakfast we noticed the temp difference in the hall vs room. Reported back, she told us to head out for the day and maintenance would look at it. When we got back we had to ask, she told us that it was broken and we were getting moved. When they moved us to 217 it was a smaller room. Noticeably smaller. Everything in that room was working better than the last, even the water pressure which we didn't think anything of when we were in 222, we just assumed it was normal, it wasn't. Things seemed normal. Monday night we had everything tied down in the bed of our truck, including 2 fishing poles that were attached into the bed. These were not something that could've just been picked up quickly, unnoticed, they were intentionally cut off the truck. Tues morning we reported it to the front desk, Alex, who was super nice and took lots of notes on what happened and said she was going to tell the manager and he would look into it. We kept following up with her and she kept letting us know she hadn't heard from her manager. We went about the rest of our trip. Wednesday, we still have not seen or spoken to this mysterious manager, we stopped and spoke with a new front desk clerk, and she parroted the same thing Alex had already said the day before 'the manager was looking, but didn't see anything suspicious.' My partner was very upset at this point because he still hasn't had the opportunity to speak with any manager, and feels like he didn't care. This new front desk clerk shifted the blame to the night auditor and said that she had spoken with them that they were supposed to be watching and walking the property more often. We had paid for the late check out, but by now, my partner just wanted to leave and get back to our home. We went upstairs and packed up early. I called Best Western corporate since we didn't get any help on site and they will be looking into it.

We booked this room because we were visiting Corpus Christi. When we arrived at our room we settled in. We have 3 year old twins. One of our babies found a dead cockroach. At this point we checked around to see if there was more. As we moved the window drapes we found another one. We moved the sofa and there was another one. We went downstairs to the lobby to voice our concerns and they offered us another room. At this point it was 2:00am. When we arrived to our new room on a different floor we found more cockroaches and some type of centipedes. These were not your typical dime size cockroaches these were as big if not bigger than a quarter. Very disappointed this place has potential but maybe with better management.
