The environment is very good, built along the river. My room can't see the river, but it doesn't matter. The water pressure is very good, which is not easy in the Philippines. There is free hot water in the room, the air conditioner is also very cool, there are quilts, and the bed is very comfortable. The staff are very enthusiastic, the restaurant food is also very delicious, and the staff will prepare breakfast and lunch in advance, and will also prepare bath towels. The hotel has a free shuttle bus at the airport. If you go to apo reef and dugong watching, you must stay at this hotel. The hotel also has activities to watch fireflies. It is a very good hotel. 10 to 15mins drive from airport, though is secluded, the service from the owner Judith was amazing, she really planned out the activities, wether you plan for island hopping, dugong watching, fireflies watching, kingfisher watching. The environment is really nothing but nature, if you are not a nature lover, you won’t be able to appreciate, and of course must bring insects repellent. I really want to go back again.

Super friendly staffs and delicious dinner & breakfast. Location is about 15 minutes from airport and they can arrange airport transfer. Really recommend if you take early flight.

Off the beaten track location in the hills, so great if you want to be more secluded - just note that there isn’t much nearby if you need anything! Gorgeous balcony overlooking the river-really feel like you’re in nature.

Comfortable, quiet and truly excellent staff
Our stay at the Riverhouse was amazing! The owners really did everything they could to make sure our stay was the best that it could be. When they found out it was our honeymoon, they even arranged a surprise for us to make sure our stay was extra special. If you stay here, make sure to take some time to speak with the owners!
The staff really do go above and beyond to ensure day trips are smooth and seamless. You just book and everything is taken care of. Breakfast is basic but delicious and the food is some of the best we have had the in the Philippines!
Other positives:
- comfortable bed with multiple types of pillows
- seamless transfers from town or the airport
- baggage service
- The area is so quiet! No roosters or motorcycle noise to be found here (a challenge sometimes in the Philippines)!
Overall, the details (like mirrored glass on the windows for privacy) are taken care of and it really shows. We would definitely stay again!

This establishment is outstanding on every account. The food is freshly cooked and of high-quality. The views over the forest and the river from the dining area with birds through the afternoon is a beautiful contrast to the busyness of Coron Town. The rooms have a newly built modern clever feel to them. The bathroom was large and the bed extremely comfortable. I can’t recommend The River house more highly for is quality and incredible affordability. If you come don’t miss doing the Dugong trip, which was run very well and time with the Dugong was so unique. I don’t think that this kind of encounter with the Dugong is easy to find anywhere else in the world that I know of as the Dugong wild has become use to snorkel and divers. The evening riverboat trip to see the fly flies was also an enchanting quiet meditative experience not to be missed.

We were lucky enough to book our accommodation in Coron at The Riverhouse. From the moment we arrived to when we left we were welcomed by friendly smiles and hospitality plus. Judith (the owner) helped us out with anything we needed and we planned a dugong tour which was absolutely incredible. The location was perfect for us and the accommodation was clean, comfortable and everything was perfect. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Bing who looked after us. The food was fresh and everything we ate each night was delicious and varied. We'll never forget our stay at The Riverhouse and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Coron and we would love to return and stay again. We can't thank Judith and her staff enough for their hospitality.
