This short hotel stay in September exceeded expectations. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and if I had not been visiting relatives I would have enjoyed sitting in the attractive setting of the hotel lounge and having breakfast which appeared delicious! Having booked a single room it appears I was upgraded to a small double which added to the comfort of the stay. The room may have been small but was immaculate and very well equipped. An electric air cooler and heater were both in the room, the fast wi fi - netflix etc available on the television -made communication easy. Ensuite shower room was very good with a powerful shower; just wait for the hot water to reach the top floor! The sound proofing from the stair area is not brilliant but the guests were quiet. I particularly liked the hotel providing local produce for the coffee/tea facilities including biscuits! The view from the back on a higher floor may have been limiting but I would have asked for / booked a room at the front if I had been there for the view… Looking at the hotel from the front there were seaview rooms with balconies. The stairs are small and there are several flights to the higher rooms so I would not recommend this particular hotel to those with mobility issues (although it appears they have a ‘sister’ hotel with an accessible room) - otherwise it is fine and I am well into old age. All in all I had an excellent night’s sleep on a comfortable bed in a well decorated and clean environment. Thank you to the hotel management and staff for a very pleasant stay.
