Rosenborg Hotel Apartments

This apartment hotel has a lot of great pluses and one big minus. The hotel is really well situated in the center of Copenhagen with almost everything within a walking distance. Getting to and from the CPH airport takes less than half an hour by train or metro (underground) and costs very little. The environment is beautiful with the 17th century observatory Rundetaarn literally across the street. The apartment we had is spacious, functional, and well-equipped. As there are multiple seven-to-eleven-every-day groceries within two-minute walking distance, keeping the family fed was exceptionally easy. Everything was clean and tidy, and all surfaces looked brand new. Beds and linen were very good, as well. This far everything earns full marks. Unfortunately, there is a major downside. At least the apartment we had (Charlotte, 1st floor) had practically no soundproofing. Street side was tolerable despite poeple having fun quite late at night, but the yard side was intolerably noisy. Single glazing with old windows combined with narrow and tall courtyard where waste bins were dragged across cobblestones at 4 am provided an unforgettable experience. Sounded like someone was unloading a dumper full of rocks. I am not very sensitive to noise, and city sounds — trams, occasional drunkards having an argument with themselves, and the other usual noise — does not wake me up. This noise, however, required me to use earplugs in the yard side bedroom. The same problem — but to a lesser extent — was with the stairwells. Sounds of guests hauling their luggage in the stairs plus opening and closing doors (slams and lock beeps) could be heard as if there were no doors. On the other hand, I do not think I heard a sound from our neighbours when they were in their apartments, so the insulation across floors and walls was good. The apartments are in an old building with an old ventilation system. There is no air cooling nor very efficient ventilation. This may not be a very big problem, though, as Copenhagen is not known for prolonged sunshine or heat waves. When we stayed at Rosenborg Hotel Apartments, it was sunny and the daily highs were around +23/25 °C, but the rooms did not become intolerably hot. I do not have anything negative or positive to say about service or personnel. The whole concept is built around no contacts, and everything worked flawlessly, which is very good. However, one thing catches my attention. While multiple reviewers express the same concerns (mostly noise), the management does not seem to respond to those complaints. I understand the problem may be next to impossible to fix due to cost or conservation regulations, but even in that case acknowledging the obvious would look better than trying to pretend there was no such problem.

The location was ideal and the apartment was clean and pleasant. We appreciated that coffee was provided. It was also very nice that we were able to leave our baggage in the storage locker after check-out. I would say the only drawback to this apartment was the lack of a view from the kitchen/sitting area. As an attic space, a view is not possible. Overall, it is a nice, convenient spot.

We loved the Rosenborg Apartments most because the location is perfect. The downside was parking and more importantly, it was very noisy.

Excellent location, very roomy, full kitchen with everything that one might need for cooking. Beds are a bit too soft to our taste and the area can get noisy on weekends, but everything else was perfect.

Everything was wonderful. Spacious, safe and a wonderful location. It was very easy to find and check in. Communication was excellent. Can’t think of anything we ever wanted that wasn’t there.
