Great location and value for exploring the area. The railway station is very close and the coast is walking distance for the start of the C2C walk. I’ve used this hotel several times before and always had a very comfortable night and friendly service from the staff.

Sunday Lunch was awful. Soggy Yorkshire puddings, undercooked roast potatoes (if you were unlucky enough to get them). My husband had no roasties or carrots. The veg was floppy. It was as if they microwaved the whole meal. My friend also asked for his missing roast potatoes & pretty much got huffed at. They never once asked how our meal was & our plates were still half full after attempting to eat them. The starters were rubbish too. Then they tried to charge us for 3 courses when we only had 2. We would never go there again!

Rang ahead on Saturday afternoon & were greeted by a lovely lady on the phone who arranged for us to park overnight in our campervan after our evening meal. Food was so nice,I had a burger & home cooked chips & my better half indulged in the carbonara,I may have even pinched some of hers 😊 Definitely recommend this little gem of a spot to anyone visiting the area, even having breakfast here before we head back home. Our 1st night kid free for what seems like forever & we certainly picked the perfect place Thanks to all the super friendly, helpfulstaff & of course the chef 😊

Go somewhere else. My hiking company booked me here. Dinner was the worst. I didn't eat the dinner. Paid for it though. Waitress was very good and nice. The room I am in is above the pub so very noisy. Took out my ear plugs. Extremely sorry I am staying here. Oh rooms so small hard to find a space to open one suitcase let alone two.

We stayed for 4 nights whilst in the area and had a mixed bag of feelings about this establishment. Whilst the staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful, they are somewhat let down by the establishment even though "it is an old building" (the managers excuse for many things). We initially put in room 6 which has a emergency exit sign above the door that illuminates the room throughout the night bright green, so don't expect to get a good night's sleep unless you've brought an eye mask. But when they could they transferred us to another room that was much better and we would have slept soundly throughout the night but were disturbed by a fire alarm on both remaining nights, the first at 2am without any staff attendance for over 40 minutes. We even had to call the fire brigade so that the alarm could checked out. But back to more enjoyable experiences of our stay. We had dinner during our stay and it was good to see that the menu was properly labelled showing where things were dairy-free, as I am dairy intolerant. The food was very nice and well presented. It arrived in a timely manner, nice and hot, and tasted really good. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was the highlight of our stay as we got to meet Katie who served us our breakfasts. She is an absolute legend and she truly is the best thing about the Manor. Even after our disturbed night due to the fire alarm she managed to brighten up our moods and day, and set us off with a spring in our step. I would say though all the staff were very approachable and helpful. We were in the area house hunting and they were able to give us information about the different areas that would have taken us ages to find out for ourselves. So I really would like to say thank you to all of them.

The chef was late in the morning with everyone queuing in the corridor. the service was then rushed.. The filter coffee was not refilled as tge poor guy was rushed off his feet. The packed lunch was so poor that the sandwiches were thrown away. Rooms were over the bar and very noisy. I would definitely not go back
