We stayed as part of a retreat run by Happy Chakras. The guest house is absolutely beautiful and in the idyllic setting of Eskdale. Couldn't have asked for more from the hosts. They were amazing. The food was all excellent and the rooms were clean, tidy, and comfortable.

Delightful B&B situated in gorgeous countryside. Room was charming and very fresh and clean. Beautiful views of grasslands and mountains we were able to watch deer grazing and running around. We saw the local owl out on his evening hunting. The breakfasts were delicious and we sat in the sunny conservatory every morning surrounded by wild birds and red squirrels! Corrine was incredibly kind and welcoming, keen to give us ideas for hiking routes, local pubs, wild swimming and more. She really went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Cannot recommend this Guest House enough! Want to come back soon!

With the weather set to be good for an adventure on the high fells we made a spontaneous decision to travel to the beautiful valley of Eskdale. After a Google search for accomodation we spotted Forrest how nestled below Moncaster fell on the outskirts of the lovely village of Eskdale green. We were warmly welcomed by Corrine and taken to our room with a view!! And what a view !! dual aspect windows gave for far ranging views over the fell side gardens to the mountains beyond. The room was spotlessly clean , warm and comfortable. If you're looking for peace and relaxation then you will not be disappointed. The gardens are a haven for wildlife, (don't forget you're binoculars) so many birds visiting the garden. The sight of red squirrels was a joy! Corrine and Kate were so friendly and cooked a lovely breakfast for us served in the conservatory. We had the most joyous three days staying at Forrest How. We can't wait to return .

Stayed for a couple of nights while exploring Eskdale. Situated away from the road but near the Ravenglass railway. Room was comfortable with a view over the garden. The one we had was fairly small. Breakfast was fine with the bonus that red squirrels come and visit while you are eating.

Red squirrels watching you eat your lovely cooked brekkie! Veggie options. Amazing setting with orchards, woods and gardens. Very dog friendly, unusual for a guest house ❤️ Nice extra touches, packed lunch had surprise dog treats and the biggest gooey homemade flapjack. Will be back!

The location is perfect. Lovely tranquil spot off the main road. To get there you cross a bridge over the enchanted narrow guage Ravendale and Eskdale railway line. The Irton Rail Road Station is beside the main road. There is an enjoyable bridal path running past the front of the house leading to numerous beautiful walk options, even without needing a car. Our room was very clean and confortable. It overlooked the garden with wonderful views. Breakfast was superb. There is an extensive selection to chose from for an individual experience. We availed of their packed lunch and was not dissapointed with the quality or quantity of what was supplied.

We had such a lovely time staying at Forest How! We went in the hope of seeing some red squirrels, and happy to say we got to see them up close! The breakfast room was a lovely place to see them running around, and the gardens/ woods outside gave that same opportunity. Beautiful place! Our room was clean, cosy, and had lovely views! Corrine and her daughter Kate are very welcoming, and little extras - such as delicious homemade flapjack in the room were a nice added touch! Felt very at home and would recommend the place to anyone. Hope to visit again!
