I really enjoyed my stay at the Lake Front Hotel!!! The room was very clean and comfortable. And I also enjoyed the convience of being able to walk to the Hall of Fame. The views were also pretty spectacular!! The restaurant did not disappoint either! I highly recommend this place!

We were in the building across the street from the office. The good: the lakeside location and closeness to town are definite pluses. The bathroom was new and clean, which earned the Lake Side three stars rather than two. Less good: a definite Fabreze smell to the room, paper-thin walls, no coffee maker, virtually non-existent Wi-Fi. Coffee is available in the office at 8 am, or at the restaurant on site at 7.

I had my eye on this place as I had come through Cooperstown back in May and I wanted to stay on the lake. It is midcentury motel that has been renovated. The rooms are clean and views and being on the lake are very nice. However, the walls are very thin. My neighbors were not being loud, but I could very much hear them. There is also no in-room coffee. The off-season price was a bit high and the cancellation policy is fairly unforgiving. The accompanying restaurant was a real disappointment (see separate review).

Made our annual trip for induction weekend. Lakefront has always been our go to when traveling to Cooperstown. Great staff, awesome room, best location, fine restaurant. They always treat you like family. Try the Glimmerglass Queen boat ride on the lake. Looking forward to returning next year!

First the good: the location is amazing. Right on the lake and two blocks from the hall of fame. The rooms were clean and the beds pretty comfortable. The bad: this place has the feel of a cheap motel, which is inexcusable at these prices. Some of the rooms don’t have fridges. The TVs are as cheap as can be. The wifi signal is so weak that it’s functionally useless. The rooms are dark and damp and smell strongly of mildew. I wouldn’t mind the above if I was paying two-star prices, but it seems to be that this hotel is resting on its laurels, safe in the fact that its prime location and the fact that airbnb is banned in Cooperstown means that they will always have customers, and charging what the market will bear. They’re probably right, but I won’t be back.

Room was not cleaned properly. Sheets had black stuff on it. Only one hand towel and no washcloths. There is no safe provided. There was also no soap in shower. The TV is small and hard to see from bed. I felt this hotel was a really bad value for price. We checked out and left. Staff person showed no interest to do anything about our concerns. They did mention the payment was non refundable.

I liked the location but not the room. Unfortunately there’s a smell that hits you the minute you open the door, I had trouble sleeping it stunk like mildew and overall bad smells. The AC unit hangs over the bed which didn’t help. The location is perfect and walkable to everything on Main Street and the area is very nice and safe and quiet at night. We did have drinks from restaurant on site and dinner one night both were good with friendly service and no reservation needed. I am glad we were there for a weekend only, if I had a longer stay in Cooperstown I would have to stay elsewhere.

My brother and I took a bucket list trip to Cooperstown and the Hall of Fame. The Lakefront Hotel was perfect for that purpose - - - location, view, restaurant, and staff. We would highly recommend the Lakefront Hotel to our friends. PLAY BALL!!!

I Made reservation and paid for 1/2 the rate. I was told the balance would be due upon check-in. Arrived to find MY credit card had been charged for the balance 3 days prior, which my travel partner had intended to pay. No explanation when questioned. No coffee maker in room ($338./night). Room smelled very musty. Had to leave door open for a bit and slept with windows open. The last straw was going to office for coffee in the am. Brewed coffee was visible through the window. Rang doorbell asking if we could get coffee. Response “the door is locked until 8 am as the print in the door states”. It was 7:57 am!! (The print on the door is silver, on clear glass door with sun shining on it…. Not visible. Would NOT return esp. given the number of other options.
