The hotel was adequate—though you can put lipstick on anything and it will look good. The room itself was dark and dingy. The washroom had a handheld wand, which was a nice bonus, but the rest was substandard: a tiny sink with no counter space and an old toilet. On a positive note, the front desk staff, Sierra, was a true sweetie pie who went out of her way to please us.

It smells like ****, and there are people smoking it. It burns to breathe, and it’s really sketchy, don’t recommend at all. The pool is green and foamy. The walls and floor are stained and it’s disgusting. Don’t go here.

Olivia and the Microtel Inn & Suites saved our mini get away with their kindness and compassion. We travelled to Michigan City to enjoy all that the lakeside has to offer in honor of my daughter's 18th birthday. We rented a house that was incredibly misrepresented by the website and the owner. In reality, it was such a terrible letdown. We still had a day and night left, but with no place to stay until we met Olivia at the Microtel Inn & Suites. We explained our situation and despite it being hours before their check in time, Olivia recognized how incredibly stressed out and defeated I was and took the initiative to bring our situation to her manager's attention and together they allowed us to check in early and even store some of our cold items in their refrigerator. My family of 5 and especially my daughter was now able to relax in a space that welcomed us and allowed us to continue our celebration as intended. If it were not for Olivia recognizing the distress that I was in, not only from a business standpoint, but from a mother-to-mother perspective, our plans and my daughter's birthday would have turned out so differently. Her initiative and compassion saved our small vacation, and we have since shared with friends what a wonderful time we had and all very much thanks to Olivia. We would absolutely stay there again. Thank you, Olivia and Microtel Inn & Suites!

Check-in was smooth and hassle free but ours and 2 other guests keys didn't work had to be rekeyed. Breakfast was nice got a bit crowded but blame that on them only serving until 9am. Only thing I found a bit off putting and unprofessional was I noticed staff were walking around in their stocking feet, no shoes on . All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly.
