Super 8 by Wyndham Michigan City

When we first walked in, we were greeted by the smell of rotten seafood or similar. The smell almost knocked you off your feet. For a family of four, we only received three towels. When I asked for more towels, I was informed only the housekeeper had a key to the linen room, and the front desk was unable to provide fresh towels. Thankfully, there was a Walmart not too far away, so I bought some towels. I understand that in the Wyndham family of hotels, the Super 8 is not the flagship. However, I do believe the hotel shouldn’t stink and the front desk should be able to provide fresh towels. Also, they have a sign up, saying if you stay more than one day, housekeeping, only cleans every other day. We should’ve just left, and dealt with the cancellation fees.

Not clean

Decent place This is not a 5 star hotel but was also not priced as such. Was great for what we wanted, a place to stay overnight on our trip. Only weird thing was that they wanted a $50 cash deposit in order to stay the night. We got it back when we checked out but never had that before. Good thing we had it as we usually do not carry that much cash.

When we pulled up, we were a little skeptical. Yes, it could use some updating but we were just there to sleep. No breakfast but lots of choices around motel. Even a Walmart across the street. We visited with Ron, front desk guy. Very friendly. There was a cop shooting across the street but we felt safe/ok. (We felt like it was something that could have happened anywhere. Don't run from the police!) Give them a try. We'd stay there again if we are in the area.

Hair dryer caught fire. Safeguard had been removed The hair dryer caught fire. I turned it off and unplugged it. When I looked closer at the plug, I saw the saftey feature (circuit breaker plug) had been disabled and been covered over with electrical tape to hide the fact.

Would Stay Again! We stayed here for one night in between destinations and were extremely happy with our room. Only downside was it wreaked of something, best described as stinky feet. They should probably clean their carpet. Otherwise great
