Great stay with my friends. great staff and location. amenities are also good. Best vibes and place to make friends and just to have a good time. The location is incredible and everyone is so friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong by chsoing to stay there

Social, but bad beds. The hostel is cosy and social. It’s not a party hostel, but people do socialise in the kitchen. The beds are the drawback here - they are rickety and every time someone moves in their bed, you can hear the springs. Also my bed moved every time the guy in the top bunk rolled around. I’m 193cm and couldn’t stretch out in the bed. Difficult to sleep. If you value your sleep, find another place.

Best hostel ! Met the most amazing people here, such a good vibe and so friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone arriving in Australia looking to meet people. Has recently been renovated and looks great ! Photos on here are older - they should update them.

Best hostel, so welcoming and friendly. Staff are lovely and the rooms are clean with a powerpoint and reading light at each bed. Met some great people in the common area and the BEST location right opposite the beach. 100% recommend.

The hostel has a great location just across the road from the beach, however it is overpriced for the service you receive. When booking, please be aware that you will have to carry your luggage up three flights of narrow stairs to get to the reception area to check in. The rooms are shabby, with holes in the walls in several places. Having ‘apartment’ style rooms is quite nice, however in my apartment there were guests sleeping on beds in the communal areas, which was not very private. At full capacity, there are 14 people sharing one bathroom in the apartment I was in. The bathroom was mopped daily, but the floor was constantly filthy. Cleaners came in regularly to change beds and bins, but it would have been good if they could have vacuumed the floors as there was sand everywhere from the beach. Bed was comfortable, but room was stifling hot with just one small floor fan and one window (which had to be propped open with an empty bottle of dry shampoo), this made it very difficult to sleep, especially with 6 people in the room. On my first morning there, staff came into the room unannounced every hour between 8am and 2pm to complete various checks, including checking for ‘extra’ guests. This was quite disruptive in itself. I was disturbed on more than one occasion whilst I was in the shower by housekeeping staff also. Privacy is lacking a lot in this hostel. I would not choose to stay here again.

My first experience at this hostel was fine for a hostel, bit messey, some ***** around but not enough for my concern, I was there for a 7 night stay. My second time staying at this hostel didn't go so well. My first night back after travelling NZ me and my girlfriend were jumped by 4 locals 2 of whom had at least 100kg each on us, they came around the corner asking if we were English followed by me responding I'm irish, we were kicked to the ground severely and beaten (Cracked theeth) at 11 at night, they were on a hunt for backpackers. The next morning at half 9 we asked if we could have a refund for our intended 6 night stay but had to pay for the second night. There was large cockroaches in the common area and kitchen, the fridge is very small for the hostel size and was very crowded, the kitchen is tiny and people don't clean up after them selfs and is often very crowded with just 3 people, management say its out of there control however this doesn't seem to be an issue in other well manged hostels. People like to drink in the common area and leave food, bottles etc. and just leave it to someone else to clean up (morning staff), most of the time we couldn't sit down to have dinner because of this. The rooms are ok but have no plugs for each bed like other hostels and only a small fan for the heat that doesn't do much good. On both occasions the group is very young and immature and seem to all have arrived recently to australia and use it as there first location. When booking I had my invoice including tax but was charged more. Compared to other hostels it's not that clean and is in serious need of a makeover, fresh paint, better friges, updated and extra kitchen and supplies, updated beds (very creaky), plugs and lights for the beds, air conditioning, WiFi in the rooms (only around the reception area) etc. It seems like I'm making it the worst place imaginable however this is basic in other hostels, I stayed in the highst room possibe (4 bed) and appartment (4 bed), management don't seem to care as long as the money rolls in hence why they are the no.1 hostel on *********** (sponsor). The reviews are fantastic for this place due to like I said people go there as there first hostel experience. The pictures look fantastic like every other hostel but the reality is much different. I invite all members of management to take weekend trips away and see the competition, there are much nicer and we'll manged hotels at a lower price point it's night and day, I can see it may not be a major issue currently for ye but I can only see it going worse in the long run. If you read other reviews on google they voice my concerns. The one star responses go from bartering them, sinsire, lying (The common room does not close at 1am, they have nicer rooms with more amenities etc.), I feel as though the responses are what you would see a angry 16 year old write,  a ah boo whoo you / angry type of responce, I find it very immature and unprofes
