No internet in the cave accomodation, bedsheet is not the cleanest… the room looks a bit dated too but overall an ok experience.

Good experience but would only be a once off. Rooms were large and tidy, but dated. No Air con, just a fan which made the room a bit stuffy.

The hotel has different room types. The cave room is worth staying in. If you bring children, it is recommended to book a normal room on the ground. The cave room is very distinctive, but a bit depressing. People with claustrophobia should be careful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Desert Cave Hotel. It was a great experience to sleep in our comfortable underground room. They had an onsite cafe/bar which was open all day from which they offered a complimentary coffee (for each person each day). This was on top of the complimentary tea and coffee supplied in our room. We were also offered discounted meals - breakfast (in the cafe) and dinner (at the near by Opal Bistro). Very pleasant staff and complimentary airport pickup was very much appreciated. I'd highly recommend a stay at the best hotel in Coober Pedy!

I was really looking forward to staying here, but the overall experience didn’t quite match the price. The idea of a cave hotel sounds super unique, but the room I got felt more like an old motel than an underground retreat, kind of outdated and not as special as I expected. Wi-Fi in my room didn’t work at all, which made it tough to look things up or plan the rest of our trip. I get that not every room is the same, but it’s definitely something to improve. For the price, I was hoping for a bit more comfort and a stronger cave vibe. The location is great and it’s such a cool concept, so with some room updates and better internet, this place could really shine. Just didn’t feel worth the cost this time.
