So the photos you see on the website are not accurate at all of the hotel in it's current run down state. I first saw this property 15 year ago when it was only 2 floors and it was quite charming. Since then it is now 4 floors and there is a definite lack of care and attention to basic details... The place is becoming very tired and run down looking with broken furniture, tattered bed linens, bed side lamps that have no bulb or lamp shades and the bulbs flop over when there is a bulb in them. The switch for the lamps you could hear sizzling when you turned them on, not very safe from an electrical point of view. Hot water was the issue the first 3 days of our stay. We move to a new room which was a bit better but when you sat out on the deck and looked down there was a pair of under wear on the roof below us as well as some kind of rag or face cloth, they had both been down there a very long time because they were black and moldy looking. When you look around at other roofs you realized that there was that kind of debris on other roofs. One of the other rooms patio door was missing a pane of glass as you can see in the photo were the curtain was popped thru it. The fourth floor roofed in area was missing half the roof and you could tell it was missing, either fix or take the rest of it off. The Mexican furniture was falling apart... the lower exterior court yard on the website shows a lower courtyard with a palapa, bistro tables all on an interlocking paver patio, lovely. The reality is that palapa doesn't exist it is in a pile of sticks on the patio, the bistro chairs are pretty rusty looking and the pavers look like they need a good power washing it is not accessible for guests. The interior courtyard with the plunge pool looks lovely and inviting in the website photos, the reality is that there is a significant number of tiles missing off the bottom of that pool making it look just really run down... As nice as the staff was and we met the owner she was lovely too but there is a general lack of interest by everyone there to keep the place looking smart and maintained. In this day and age and the prices being charged you can't use that adage 'Well it's Mexico!" That doesn't fly anymore, prices have increased significantly down there and probably wages haven't, generally speaking. My husabnd popped down to the lobby cafe 1 morning to pick us up a couple of coffee he took down 100 pesos thinking that was plenty of money for 2 coffee, he was wrong. It was 110 pesos/$9cdn for 2 coffee when he asked for milk for them he was told no and some mystery thick blob was plopped into each cup...no idea what that was didn't taste very good and basicially one cup was poured down the drain. The Café had a list of things available but no prices, so was it 1 price for tourist 1 price for locals?? We were going to have breakfast there but at 9 bucks for coffee what would breakfast have cost? The Café was never busy which is too bad because the location was pr
